    Mona and Lisa,
Question, so what normally is the best time to record? And that is knowing all systems go. I ask because I remember reading a article about Exile On Main Street , Rolling Stones 1972. And they lived in a flat in France to record that album to avoid taxes , and reading that times were like 2 o clock in the morning, 5 am , midnight etc….so with knowing you all live together and the studio is right there, i was wondering if that ever happened to you ladies?

    Hi Bill!
We used to work and exist pretty much exclusively at night but for a few years now we have been making an effort to adapt to a somewhat human-like sleeping schedule (she says, as she’s writing this at 2am … but at least I’m planning to go to bed soon!).

There is no scheduled recording time in our household so we usually just do it whenever it suits the workflow. For louder recordings, like drums, we try to make sure that everyone in the house is awake and we avoid it after 11pm for our neighbour’s sake. But everything else (vocals, guitars, …) happens at all hours of the day/night.

    Thanks for the question!

Thank you Mona for your reply, I guessed there is a set time for certain things, LOL..Like the drums etc….But they say the best recordings are late into the night and early am ….Again thanks and stay groovy!

I guess creative inspiration can come at all hours night or day. I tend to be a night owl myself. Often get a 2nd wind at 2 AM.
