H. Thomas ,
I did not see it on the video. I checked who wrote it. One don’t bet on it. It was Songwriters: Elliot Ingbar and Larry Wagner who wrote it . Sorry my friend.
Don’t Bogart that joint, my friend
Pass it over to me

Hi Joseph,
I am referring to this. See the detail in show more

I am willing to believe that it’s someone’s joke.

This doesn’t work.
You need to find the URL directly from youtube.

Hey Joe, those videos were awesome, really enjoyed them. Lucy in The Sky With Diamonds is so psychedelic, and the Doors were great. Love that deep orange sunset. I’ve heard Itchycoo park before somewhere, very nice. Barry McGuire really gets his message across in Eve Of Destruction. All those songs really express the feelings of the times better than any speech or news article. Thanks for these.

David, wow that is a totally different side of the Monkees I did not know about! Mommy and Daddy has a catchy tune, and some very interesting and unexpected lyrics. If that was a toned down version, I could imagine the original version definitely raising some eye browse. Thanks for sharing it.

Hey Jung, Most of them were banned on AM radio, a lot of them drug songs and protest songs.
That why FM came along. Then the music had more meaning and the songs were a lot longer than the average 3 min songs. Actually thanks God for FM. Glad you enjoyed them.
Joe – yea that song by the Monkees provide by David was good. I never heard that one until he posted it.

Jung also Lucy In The Sky was from the Beatles cartoon movie Yellow Submarine.
Have you ever seen that movie?  If not you need to check it out. But watch out for the blue meanies and help Jeremy. He’s a Nowhere Man
-
Joe, I haven’t seen any of the Beatles movies nor cartoons. I should make some time and watch them, as well as the Who, Tommy. 🙂

Apparently the Beach Boys have been banned from the San Diego zoo for life. It happened during the photoshoot for the Pet Sounds album cover. It seems the zoo staff didn’t take too kindly to the boys over enthusiastic playfulness with the farm animals pictured in the album cover after the shoot.
-
I hadn’t heard about that, Jung. I just looked up some of the details. According to a local newspaper columnist who interviewed zoo officials, these were the “charges”:
One band member bounced a carrot off the head of a tiger.
Another band member tried to stick the head of an antelope through some iron bars.
They carried around puppies and baby chicks and would set them down in the open and walk away. -
David, thanks for researching the details. Looks like the boys were naughty indeed, I think I would have banned them too, maybe not for life. Would have insisted they do a benefit concert for the zoo animals to make up for it! 🙂  A while back I did see a post from Brian Wilson condemning hunters who went to Africa and shot and killed majestic lions illegally. Good to know Brian Wilson is an advocate for animals.

I’m guessing that it was Dennis and Mike that caused all the trouble. The others probably behaved themselves.
-
David, yeah I could see Dennis with that wild crazy nature he had, could get himself in trouble.

Hi Jung;
I had heard that “A Day In the Life” was banned because of the phrase “I’d love to turn you on”. BBC thought it was a drug reference and so it was not allowed on the radio.
