Not a lot of movement in the numbers this month: a couple of videos went up significantly, and a couple down significantly, but the overall picture was pretty much unchanged.

The initial numbers for Here Comes the Sun, taken for the last hour of day 1 (July 3rd), are V = 15096 and C = 36.7. For July 4th, V = 21077 and C = 51.2 (an increase!). For July 5th, V = 9922 and C = 24.1. For July 6th, V = 13391 and C = 32.5 (another increase!). For July 7th, V = 10783 and C = 26.2.

Hey, not fair! I go out of town for two days without internet access, and MLT posts a new video that I can’t take first-day data on. I thought I’d be safe if I was back before Sunday. Oh well, we’ll just have a delayed start on this one.

For the last hour of July 30th, the numbers for Vincent are V = 18024 and C = 53.4. For July 31st, V = 20539 and C = 60.9. For August 1st, V = 24296 and C = 72.0. (Up, up and away!) For August 2nd, V = 16462 and C = 48.8. For August 3rd, V = 10994 and C = 32.6.

Yeesh, David! You had just one job…..just kidding! We all appreciate the immense effort and time you expend keeping these stats for us clubbers! I sure couldn’t do it! I believe the first 24-hour-view numbers were real close to 30K, give or take.

Thanks, Jeffery. The monthly summary takes about two hours to generate, but otherwise it’s not really a huge time sink. Just a matter of remembering to check the numbers at certain times and do a couple of quick calculations.

My original intent was to explore how the viewing rates evolve over time. After over a year of taking data I think that’s pretty much been answered, and I don’t know where else to go with the project. (I’m open to suggestions!) But as long as there’s still some interest in the stats, I’ll keep on keeping on.

I’ve read that YouTube provides detailed analytics to uploaders about how their videos are faring, so I’m sure Mona and Lisa have a much better idea about their viewing history than I can provide. But they probably would have to come to this thread for a tally of simultaneous views. If that metric interests them, I’m thrilled to be the source of it.
