My trusty Beach Boys always comes through. I bought this vinyl during my high school days, I haven’t heard this in decades. It transports me back to my teenage days. Wow!!!
The song writing credit goes to Chuck Berry, but the Beach Boys brought his one to life and made it all their own. In my high school annual photo where we could provide a short comment, I think I transcribed some of the lyrics from this song.

Good one Jung, But I like Chuck’s better only because he wrote it. The Beach Boys did a great version.
So how you doing my friend.

That’ s Fine Lynn.
David I never heard this song by Paul. What cd is it from?
-
Joe, it was the B-side of the Take It Away single from 1982. Take It Away was on the Tug of War album, but I don’t think this song was. I actually wasn’t even aware of it until I scanned Paul’s discography on Wikipedia.

This was one of Neil Sedaka’s very first songs, from 1957:

Thanks Dave, Learned something on Paul I never knew before from you. Thanks
I will also play tomorrow the only Neil Sedaka album I have by him. He defiantly a blast from the past. I always liked him.
Jung where did you find this Kinks songs. I don’t recalled this song at all. Will have to check my cd’s and albums and see it I have it. A good one too.

I guess this technically fits the category. Remember those “ring around the collar” commercials for Wisk detergent?

Awesome pick Joe! This is probably one of the finest guitar works in hard rock-dom! At their concerts it’s impressive when the big bell is slowly lowered above the stage as the song starts.
Don’t care for the lyric subject matter, but musically it’s powerful.
Regarding that Kinks song, it’s the first time hearing it for me too. Found it on youtube, and it’s delightful!. It looks like it was on their Kontroversy album.
