songs you hear before you end your day
Posted by Bill Isenberg on 24/09/2020 at 01:56So question for you club members. As you know when I leave work, I pop in a CD in my car and day I pick one to listen and when I get up in the morning I have a song in my head. So today? The song today was You Belong to Me, Yesterday was Revolution, so does this happen to anyone? I think it is pretty cool to start my day. Just throwing this out there to see if anyone has the same thing.

Hi Bill. When I use to commute to work it was on the train, a 35 minute very scenic ride. I often listened to When We’re Together and Orange. I remember “Nothing Is In Vain” riding along the water ways and seeing the sunrise and the peaks of the mountain tops taking shape as it got brighter. Such a beautiful and mystique feeling it evoked. I remember that beautiful melody of “Still A Friend of Mine” coming on as the train neared the downtown train station near work, and wishing the ride wasn’t over so soon. Or after work I remember Dreams with that peaceful easy feeling. So relaxing. I also remember standing in the dark cold early morning air waiting for the train on the way to work, and listening to No More Worries Company that melted worries away. Yes, so many wonderful musical moments with MLT music. Lately it’s been the Duo Sessions CD in the car when I go out, love every song on there. I sometimes have no problem taking the longer route to my destination. Oh “Sweet Lorraine”!

I woke up this morning with “Lola” playing in my head. I don’t know why since the last thing I listened to last night was “If I Fell”. I suspect tomorrow I’ll have “Friday on My Mind”.
I’ve been starting and ending my day with my MLT playlist on my computer. If I drive somewhere I have all their CDs on a thumbdrive plugged in.

I finish every day with a selection of MonaLisaTwins music on my phone. The order switches around according to my mood, rockers one day, sweet songs the next. Sometimes covers, sometimes originals. They always make me happy! Love those girls!

There is almost nothing better than black coffee and “Good Morning Sunshine” turned up to eleven for a real wake up morning ride to work.
I too have a daily commute, one hour each way. I go through some country roads before the highway and see a lot of deer, especially lately. They have been very active. Are they smart enough to fatten up for winter, or maybe it is just a high volume of Covid fawns?
I have been listening to “When We’re Together” a lot lately, and so have the deer. This evening I came upon a group in someone’s front lawn. I love to slowly roll up on them and roll down my window. I try not to startle them. It’s so kool how they will just stand there and stare at me. I will try to get a pic to post next time. The beautiful harmonies of “Dreams” was playing softly out of my car window. They seemed to enjoy it. But then one shook their tail a little and they all got the “Danger, danger Will Robinson!” warning and darted into the brush.
To end the day, a little Orange goes a long way.

This is kind of freaky. Early this morning I went to the grocery store. The thumb drive with my music was set on random play. Song that starts playing when I start the engine: “Friday on My Mind”. In case you haven’t been following this thread, go check what I said yesterday.

So cool Lynn! No better way to start a Friday than that song from the Mona Lisa Twins!! Love it , today when i woke up I had June playing on my mind, that song has a Till There was you feel effect to it, i suspect that is what Mona and Lisa had in mind when they wrote that song. My music tastes vary, I ususally listen to MLT, Glass Tiger, Cass Elliot solo stuff, Mamas and Papas, April Verch, Marla Gibbs, Pstsy Cline, Amy Winehouse, Beatles, etc….Whatever gets my musicheart going , I sing along to/with, air guitar, air piano, air drums, etc… That’s my 2 cents worth…
