Just can’t get enough of the double live album from the Mona Lisa Twins. One thing that I noticed. Think about it, there is 4 people on this album doing it all. Mona, Lisa , Charlie and sorry forgot the bass players name. My point is, there is no keyboards, strings, horns, just 2 guitar players, bass player and drummer and my god the wonderful voices of the Mona Lisa Twins. One can forget this that no one else is on this album but those 4. The sound is awesome and full to me. From the fantastic drum solo and bass solo on Please Mr. Postman / wipe out to the wonderful harmonies on This Boy, to the great guitar riffs and guitar leads  thru out especially on She’s a woman and Kansas City to the fun of Lazy Sunday. This album has it all and for us who never had the chance to see them live? This is the best thing! I can just imagine if I ever have the opportunity to see them live? OMG I Will be jumping up and down like a kid on Christmas morning. I know that sounds goofy but in the spirit of the Mona Lisa Twins? I Am listening to them and STAYING GROOVY!!!

Agree! I have the CDs in my cat and it’s almost the only thing I listen to! (sometimes I throw in the Duo Sessions just for a change of pace) I will be right behind you jumping up and down if I ever get to see them live!

You have a cat with a built-in CD player?  That’s awesome, Michael!

David: oops! I’m not a big cat person in real life! And to Jacki: I promise to stand behind you at the dream live concert! (I’m over 6 feet tall) maybe you could sit on my sholders!

    My sentiments exactly.

Bare bones, lean and mean, just let the voices and instruments shine through.

I think the Beatles did a great job before they discovered the studio as more than a place  to record.  And i think they used the studio in response to what Brian Wilson had done.

Brian Wilson was a very talented and very troubled soul with lots of time on his hands.

    Think of the implications.

Damn Straight I’d be front row centre because I ‘m under 5 feet tall and to be blocked by tall people in front of me…that wouldn’t  do… lol… I did have the privilege  of sitting on stage to the side at a couple of Glass Tiger concerts as my friends and myself inckuded were afraid I’d be stampled to death  and/or seriously  hurt because I’m so small…. I even got carried over the barricades by security at an outdoor GT show, for same reason….

And I’m echoing all sentiments about the Live  @ Cavern CD that have been said ????

Dont worry Jacki, we will make sure you get to see the Mona Lisa Twins if we all have to put you on our shoulders!! LOL…Me and my wife saw Grand Funk Railroad back in 1974 and she is short as well so I had her on my shoulders the entire concert! So we will make sure you will see the twins as well!! I know that if we do get a chance to see them live? It will be the best concert ever! I am speaking from 12 times of seeing the Rolling Stones so I know they will be just as awesome live!!

Hi Bill.  Yeah agree wholeheartedly.  Mona and Lisa’s vocals alone are so rich, they don’t need much more accompaniment to make beautiful music.  Peace On Earth/Little Drummer Boy is a good example, as well as all their Duo Sessions.  Just their vocals + 2 guitars = heavenly music

    David and Michael,

I can not believe I over looked the feline CD player. I was gonna add another cat joke, but my cats only play catsets.

I know what you mean, Bill. Four talented musicians were in the same groove for this brief moment in time, and we get to experience it over and over. The band was very tight that night. It was an explosion of groovy energy.

I think we all share the same dream of a live show and everyone here meeting there. It looks like we already have a plan to be sure Jacki is up front with an unobstructed view. That’s a given, eh?

“I’d never give a dream away Not even for a day”
