Mona and Lisa’s Sugarman is so superb on so many levels.

I’m not a guitarist, but just listening to both Mona and Lisa play the guitars, I can tell there is some great guitar work going on here.

First, Mona’s intricate and elegant classical guitar strumming on her acoustic Epiphone really captivates throughout, just awesome masterful playing, and I’ve never appreciated the bass guitar like when Lisa does it, some really fancy deep bass effects happening here. The bass guitar line stands out brilliantly, and there are so many beautiful flourishes like the way Lisa ends the song, or that nice hypnotic counterpoint going on, on the bass at different points which really grabs me. Truly remarkable guitar work by Lisa. Their mastery of any genre they decide to do is evident here, and Lisa’s lead vocals on these intimate ballads are always stand out stellar and this is no exception, as is Mona’s vocals and their harmonies. And wow, Lisa’s finesse and charm just radiate out of the screen as she sings and plays this one! Both so beautiful here.

From hard pounding energetic rock and roll songs to supremely elegant and classy ballads like Sugarman, Mona and Lisa can do it all with unmatched musical brilliance today.

    What do you guys think?

You’re preaching to the choir here Jung! The twins are so masterful at everything they play and sing! Love them tons!

I hear ya, Jung. The first time I played this I was so impressed, I had to replay it a couple times right away. Lisa puts just the right emotion in her voice here, well she always does, but I like the soulful tone here. Mona’s playing shows how versatile she is. Groovy pop songs, rock, ballads, she can play it all.

I remember when I first started listening to MLT, I was having trouble distinguishing who was singing. Nowadays I love the subtle differences of their voices. Mona has quite a range to her singing. She can sing sweet high harmonies, or raspy rock like Club 27. She sounds so kool here.

As for Lisa’s bass, holy crap, it’s amazing. How do they play like that and sing so well never missing a beat? I am sure their answer would be practice, practice, practice.

Hi JP, Michael, yeah well said guys! It’s really amazing how versatile Mona and Lisa are with their vocals, and whatever they touch they do it so perfectly and brings out all the emotions of the song. They are both so versatile, expressive and rich in their vocals, and when one does a super lead vocal part, the accompanying backing vocals provided by the other is always just equally as great, and then they harmonize, it’s spectacular. And then when Papa Rudi comes in with his master arrangement and mixing skills and create a 3rd twin, a 4th and so on, we have fireworks!!!
