I came across this as a feature at the end of the evening PBS New Hours program tonight.  What a wonderful job it must have been to be that photographer, Ethan Russel, who photographed the Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, and some of their intimate moments.

Photographer Ethan Russel’s favorite photo was an intimate shot of John Lennon.  He explains the photos are communicating the feelings about the individual(s) in front of the camera.  All those photographers who took many shots of those great 60s bands tell such a great story through their photos.  Captures the feeling and passion of the moment.

Ethan Russel expresses it perfectly for me.  It reminds me of all the MLT photo slide shows of their many stage shots, communicating the feelings and passion of Mona and Lisa as they perform on stage, or are hanging out before going on stage, or in the studio, or hiking etc.  That’s why I enjoy those photos so much.

It takes but a keen eyed photographer, to fully understand, capture the true essences ofca person, object, etc, and another well known whom I love the photos  of is:  Ann Lebowitz

The recent  death ofGerman Beatles woman photographer, is another prime example  of a keen eyed photographer that was gifted  in the sense  and capacity as well…??

Jacki, that German woman photographer was mentioned in the MLT Beatles Hamburg video?  It was Astrid something?  Cant remember the last name.

Photography is all about capturing the moment too.  Ever since the advent of digital photography since around 2000, I’ve taken photos and video clips to fill up a good part of a 2GB hard drive.  Since I got into journaling and fountain pens about 11 years ago I’ve been capturing moments in words in my journal kind of like how writers in novels paint a scene or moments in words in vivid detail.  Some times reading one of my journal entries from years ago transport me back to certain moments and emotions associated to it like photo albums or music can.
