Hi Bill, that’s awesome you got to see the Stones live. Watched that youtube video of their St Louis show from a few weeks ago and what a touching tribute to Charlie Watts at the beginning of the show and those kind words from the band about him. A great show they put on indeed!
These great music legends from the 60s, the way they continue to play and create music over half a century later is so inspiring I think for all of us. The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, John Sebastian, Beach Boys etc….They are truly great, and what heroes are made of.
Back in 2013 when I turned 50, I was feeling a little blue about getting old and was feeling tired from all the depressing things going on around me at the time, and one day I came across a 2 hour long Beach Boys concert that was taped the previous year from Tokyo that was part of their 50 Year Annivesary World Tour. Watching Brian, Mike, Al, Bruce, guys old enough to be my parents, with so much energy passion and musical magic rocking 50,000 fans in one of the largest stadiums in Japan made me forget about turning 50 and feeling tired! Compared to them, I was still young, a baby! It was so inspiring to see, my heroes all my life, bigger than life, on stage, this band older than me still so full of life! Wow!
Kudos to Mick, Keith, and Ronnie for being such wonderful legends and still going strong, and keeping the magic going.
