The Zombies are In!
Posted by Robert Blume on 13/12/2018 at 19:21The 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees were just announced. And The Zombies, MLT favorites, are finally in. About darn time.

I saw that this morning, SB. I mentioned it in my long thread. 7 are in this year, but the class is weaker overall than last year’s 6, IMHO. Last year The Zombies were 6th, right behind #5 Judas Priest, who also failed to get in last year. (The Fan Vote does not guarantee induction.) Do you know where The Zombies placed in the votes this year that put them in? I’m really glad they got in this year, as I had them on every ballot last year.
Last year (2018 Class) in the Performer Category it was:
Bon Jovi (1,162,098 votes)
The Moody Blues (947,726 votes) – long overdue!!!
Dire Straits (613,726 votes)
The Cars (552,707 votes)
Judas Priest (538,467 votes, but did not get inducted)and Nina Simone
Sister Rosetta Sharpe got in last year in the Award for Early Influence

It looks like Zombies came in 7th out of 15 nominees for 2019. I feel good the collective votes from the MLT fan base (including many of mine) had a part in getting them inducted. Well deserved.
The Cure
Def Leppard
Janet Jackson
Stevie Nicks
Radiohead
Roxy Music
The Zombies-
Thanks Jung. How ironic; last year The Zombies were 6th in the Fan Vote and did not get in. Per what you say they were 7th in the Fan Vote this year and got in.
But once again, the Fan Vote is just a small part of the equation.

I would never put in the Hall of fame or any act that don’t play Rock and Roll (Janet Jackson, Lil Cool J) or that couldn’t get in within three years after the become eligible (The Zombies).
It’s almost like they want to do a ceremony every years so they kept on going back to some act they refused before or chose one that everything but Rock and Roll. I like Stevie Nick but why on earth would Stevie Nick be inducted today in not 1998 (Stevie released an album with Buckingham before they joined Fleetwood Mac), has she done anything meaningful after 1998 that would explain she got in 20 years later but wasn’t nominated in 1998?
