Nice catch Jeffery, Ukelele Day!  Lisa and her Ukelele and George Harrison have created some beautiful music with this bright and joyful instrument.  In honour of that, here is one of my faves with Lisa on the Ukelele!

One of my favorite Twins’ uke songs, too, Jung. Also “Daydream” among others. I looked up “You Belong to Me” a while back to see who first sang or wrote it. Surprised it goes back all the way to the 20s, and has MANY covers.

If You Belong To Me was written in 1920s, that makes the song nearly 100 years old. Maybe one of the oldest MLT covers, but it sounds so good when Mona and Lisa sing it, it sounds modern like a hit from today. It doesn’t sound dated at all.

BTW, it is groundhog day today as well, and Phil the groundhog didn’t see his shadow, so we can expect an early spring. 🙂

I probably should’ve tipped a small hat to Tiny Tim, as well. “Tiptoe Thru the Tulips” was all the rage when I was in my formative years. I even named my first pet cat “Tiny Tim”, but in my defense, I was only about 3 or 4, and that song was EVERYWHERE!

I LOVE MLT’s version of Tonight you belong to me. LOVE IT! I have a concert Uke and a baritone uke. I play the baritone uke all the time the most as it’s like playing guitar without the low E and A strings. SO much fun!
