Good morning David,
I know a lot of people don’t like his singing, I understand that. I like his singing. He sounds better than Yoko Ono please don’t sing. I know there was few songs on the album when John died. Dancing on Thin Ice. One think I will say artist like th Band, Bryds, Manford Mann and off course Hendrix did their version better than the originals.
Back to Robert Zimmerman he is the best song writer that ever was period. One of my favorite remake and I love the words to this song is The Mighty Quinn

Yes…Agreed…Yoko Ono stick best to your creative artworks, speaking, Not Your Singing…lol… Bob Dylan’s voice in this case I ‘d be willing to appreciate to tolerate….as for Yoko…Nooooooooo…..go far away …from a mic, recording studio….lol… ??

I’m firmly in Jacki’s camp on this one: I’d rather hear a cat being strangled than listen to Dylan’s affected singing voice. But I’ll agree with Joe that both are more pleasant than Yoko.
That being said, I have to acknowledge his genius as a songwriter, and this is coming from someone who seldom pays attention to lyrics. So many of the tunes he wrote sound wonderful when performed in multi-part harmony. I’d put Peter, Paul & Mary’s rendition of “Blowin’ in the Wind” at the top of the list, followed by the Seekers’ recording of “The Times They Are a-Changin'”.

The other album is Desire which I forgot to say. Also this is the Great Emmy Lou Harris doing
all back round harmony. She did a great job. I love this album and Dylan sings really good on
this. That it for now to be continue.

thanks  Joe, for your replies and your posted videos
The Mighty Quinn and I Shall be Released  were both from the basement tapes which  I love & the covers were all that any body ever heard (except  for the bootleg recordings) until it was finally officially released years later. I love The Bands version with Richard Manuel’s hauntingly beautiful vocals. Love that version of My Back Pages. My opinion my be rare but I never liked The  Byrds  very popular version of Mr. Tambourine Man. To me it, it didn’t capture the essence of the song . One of the definitive covers of Dylan has to be Hendrix’s All Along The Watchtower

Another thing I like to point out the telecaster Marty Stuart belonged to Clarence White original member of Byrds. A very unique Guitar. Tried to copy exactly the modifications
were done to the Guitar to make it sound like a steel pedal guitar. Clarence White wife
sold it to Marty Stuart. Clearance was packing up his equipment into his car when a drunk
driver ran him over. A shame. I love the Byrds.

Joe,  I love Desire & Blonde on Blonde as well.  Blonde on Blonde is so unique with incredible surreal lyrics & a wide range of musical styles. Blues, rock & ballads.  Some one once said no one captured 3 in the morning  better  than Dylan on Blonde on Blonde.  Desire is musically rich as well. Hurricane is explosive. I really like Sara as well.
