Well, there would be “Waiting For The Waiter”. An idea first born by Papa Rudi while waiting for no-one else but a particularly slow waiter 😉 Now the lyrics obviously morphed into all sorts of meanings and got a life on their own but nevertheless it started with a rather unsatisfactory dining experience.

Thankyou Lisa for replying … Indeed… And quite right in how it morphed into a life of its own…. And John S’s magic touch on the song and guesting in the video, was a bonus…It has that eerie mystique to it, just draws you into it… Sounds so perfect when cranked to comfortable ear listening tolerance of decibels!!!!

Well, Lisa, that’s obviously the Wagner way. Turning a negative into a positive with thoughts for a wonderful musical creation. I’ll bear Papa Rudi’s wisdom in mind next time I’m getting impatient, waiting for the waiter!

I remember Lisa when Waiting For the Waiter was released, it was the very first original song since I discovered you all. I knew all your covers and all the songs on When We’re Together by then, so to hear a brand new original was so incredibly fabulous. It was also very different from anything we heard previously as it was a blues song. Loved your passionate singing, and the lyrics were brilliant. It was mysterious and took many, many listens to figure out the underlying meaning. It was a good thing that first preview video, in advance of the album Orange release, was a lyrics video which made it easier to listen and analyze. The lyrics are brilliant indeed as are all the songs on Orange. They all have an inspiring message, which is another reason the album is so remarkable.
