Hi Ladies!

I Have a question, that I actually know the answer to.?

In your beautiful cover of Winter Wonderland on your Phenomenal Album Christmas Album, the song sounds more polished than your original recording at the Cavern. Could it be 2.0? I think you did a complete re-recording. Two words stand out above all the rest. Marraige and DO after you meet Parson Brown. They sound different than on the live recording.

Christmas is the best seasonal Album I have ever heard.

By the way, the beach sound from the Caribbean is perfect for War Is Over. And

Listen to Ghost Riders Of the Sky, the arrangement sounds just like the one on Walking In The Air. Old school Country Western Movies. Clint Eastwood Good, Bad, and the Ugly for one.

Hi Rick!

You are right, we completely re-recorded the song from scratch. The live version from the Cavern Club was Christmas fun for that day but as you can tell by our voices we’ve been quite ill with a cold. Also, we didn’t want to have just one live performance on the CHRISTMAS album but all proper studio productions with all bells and whistles. Quite, literally … we added some bells and even a marimba. 😉

MLT’s version is great, but I’ve long thought that the definitive performance of Winter Wonderland is the one by the first-season cast of Saturday Night Live in 1975, with Garrett Morris singing the lead.
