Happy 2019! (New Beatles Video)

Welcome to 2019!

They say nothing is more constant than change. So true, as again, an old year has come to an end, and we used the remaining, quieter days after Christmas to reflect on the past and think about what’s to come.

We all welcome a new beginning, some of us in the hope that it will be better than the last year, that we’ll be able to let go of some sorrows and pains, or to clean house, change obstructive habits, improve, develop and cultivate successful and meaningful actions and nurture relationships that do us good even more. It’s also the time to make new plans for the next twelve months, and we’re no exception to all that.

After releasing our original album ORANGE in 2017, we used 2018 to finally finish up some long-term projects to make space for new creations.

With MonaLisa Twins play Beatles & more Vol. 2 and 3 we finally released all our remaining YouTube covers on CD and recorded some new ones so that you have something up-to-date to listen to while waiting for MLT album number three.

With the launch of the MLT Club we’ve realised another huge project that we then saw growing and blooming over the past months, and which we will cultivate over the next years to come. We loved seeing you all interacting with each other in the comments and forum, and we will strive to keep the MLT Club an inspiring place for all.

For 2019 we plan on creating more original music, starting with an empty sound file. While we have been accumulating ideas and concepts over the last months, admittedly not a single note has made it onto record yet. That makes the whole task of kicking off the new album production really exciting. The guitars, drums and all the other instruments are sitting there in silence, us and them curious as to what we’ll ask from them next.

It’s a challenge but definitely one that we like and are ready to tackle once again. It’s this unique feeling of “everything is possible”.

And although one can’t rush creativity and inspiration, if life doesn’t throw something big and nasty our way or we need to hop on some unforeseen opportunity, we’re determined to release a new album in fall 2019.

We’ll keep you posted on our progress through our newsletters and social media, and will provide additional info and updates to MLT Club members every now and then. In everybody’s interest we’ll mainly be focusing on the new music though.

And as always, a HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported and listened to us over the last year, who believed in what we’re trying to accomplish and helped us get a bit closer. As with nearly everything in life, it is all about teamwork and this year showed us better than ever how much is possible if like-minded people stick together.

“Out with the old, in with the new?” Not necessarily. We wish everyone that you can hold on to the good things from 2018 and make things even better in 2019.

On that note, we want to share with you this (hopefully fitting) cover of Getting Better:

We wish you and your families and friends lots of love and happiness, health and wealth, joy and purpose, in other words:

Have a groovy New Year and talk soon!

Mona & Lisa,
Michaela & Rudolf

  1. Just bought the Cavern c.d – excellent and have been following on you tube – as an avid Beatles/60s fan and having seen the Fab 4 live in Glasgow twice where i couldn’t hear because of the screaming – the guy’s as well i may add, it is such a delight to hear the girl’s voices and guitar work so clear – am now a fan of their own work as well and think the new song ‘Questionable’ is sheer brilliance – cheers girls – keep up the good work.

  2. I’ve always wondered how they got that sound at the beginning, now I know. Also, I saw a video of you doing the beginning of “She’s Leaving Home” with a ukulele & I’ve wondered if you ever done the whole song. It was for another video of yours but it started out with “She’s Leaving Home”. I’ve never wanted a ukulele before, now I’ve got to have one! Any chance of you coming to America? Stay Groovy

  3. OOPS! The kitty picture is cool, but, also a mistake. Here I am in 1965 taking the Beatles very seriously for a quick photo.

  4. Here’s a picture of me in 1965. I was 11 years old. I am a 1st generation “BEATLES” fan! While listening to your Beatles covers “I’ll Follow The Sun” I literally burst into tears. I was overcome by nostalgia, love, fun, and happiness that wonderful life experience was. It will never repeat itself. I’m a harsh critic when it comes to The Beatles as my benchmark of musical excellence during those years. You, two young ladies, have won my vote for capturing the REAL spirit of The Beatles music. Thanks for making me cry in a good way.

  5. Love you both. Great singers. Been listening you for ages..

  6. Sheer bliss! You got me as soon as I listened to your cover of “God only knows.” I am listening to everything you posted to YouTube and have read your bio. You are both blessed with incredible talent. Please visit the US and tour. You will be sold out everywhere. I live near the American Music Theater in Lancaster, PA, so please make sure you play that venue! Now get back to the studio and create more magic!

  7. Came across your singing on you tube thought you were very good love to see you live

  8. Creatively Onwards Go Forth… New music horizons await as your studio classroom of instruments eagerly await their call to participate… I wish for an even more Groovy enthusiastic year of 2019 for you all… ????????????????☕✌️????????????☮️

  9. Just saw you on youtube. Would love to see you live.
