A new music video just landed 🚀
“Janitor Joe” is a song off our latest album “WHY?”, and we are so excited to be able to share with you a music video for it! Follow Joe’s story from janitor to retirement in outer space!
It’s unlike any other video we’ve ever released, not least because it’s actually the first time in MLT history that somebody else created a video for us.
The animation was done by Natalie A. Palumbo, a motion graphics designer from New York who has also been an MLT fan for many years. We sent her the song, a very rough story board and off she went to create this wonderfully trippy video!
If you’re an MLT Club member you can watch the behind-the-scenes interview with her over on our website. Becoming a member is the best way to support new music and videos.
Get “WHY?”
If you like the song and want to hear more, you can get it on our album “WHY?” which came out last year and is available on CD, Vinyl and as a Download!
If you’re an MLT Club member all your purchased CDs and Vinyl will automatically get signed by us, and you will also get access to many behind-the-scenes videos about the record! And of course, you can stream the entire album (actually, ALL albums) online immediately after sign-up.
We also offer “Studio Scribbles” for all singles off the album and just created some for Janitor Joe as well. They are limited-edition art prints of scribbles and notes taken during the writing of the song “Janitor Joe”. Each print is numbered (1-100), and signed by both of us!
If you like the song, please share it far and wide. Leave comments below and on YouTube, sing it out loud and have a good time 🙂
Big hugs to you all!!

Loved the album.
I love the song. The whole album is great. I listened to it 3 times over as I tooled around over a couple of weeks doing routine stuff while driving. Janitor Joe is such a fun, funny tune too. It seems like a long time since in an inconsequential story was set to music, and was this well done. I wish it had radio play because this is the kind of thing that isn’t played on radio stations anymore. I miss that.
I look forward to your next album.
Very nice video Janitor Joe great melody, music and singing. You are very talented.
Lou. I am a big fan of your music.
Another fine effort. Got me right from the intro. Great songwriting.
I absolutely love Janitor Joe…….. girls, you are a breath of fresh air….. That was a timeless composition of the highest quality. In fact, ever since I discovered you, I’ve just listened with joy, and thank you to my favourite group, The Beatles, who are clearly your inspiration
Just one last thought……..when are you coming over to see me in Brisbane, Australia
Heaps of love to you both

Loved this song the moment I first heard it. I’m an amateur astronomer, and I often set my telescope up in local parks to share my views with random folks. I’ve put together an astronomy playlist to keep everyone entertained while we look at the cosmos, and I added Joe immediately!
I love it. It’s nice
Wonderfully campy video and great tune! I loved it. I did miss seeing both of you, though.
Loved this song when I first heard it on the album.
The MonaLisa twins have a refreshing yet vintage sound , which should take them into another realm……. go girls go !!!
That is SO DAMN COOL!!! This ordinary guy whose dreams rocket him into the universe. I got chills and felt so happy… What an absolute trip you guys! You got it, I’m ordering the album download!
Catchy nice tune! It kept reminding me of early Beatles fun songs (not shocking, eh?). Playful, creative, listenable. Very very nice. Keep doing what you do – it’s awesome.
I have this CD and love ALL the tracks. This is one of my favourites – just so innocent and naive – makes you want to hop aboard.
Hey ! Nice tune, again, and nice video. Strangely, your song echoes with a nice book I’ve just finish to read : “Until the end of time”, by Brian Greene, which has also carried me in the universe ! Thank’s and all my wishes of success to you !
Love it, just another great song 🎵 as we have come to expect from the twins.
I love the music and video.
The animation was very innovative but, to watch musicians perform their music and vocals is so much more fulfilling 🧔🏼♂️
Excellent 👍👍👍
Tremendous fun
No one does it like you do. The world applauds your talent. Love this song. Great harmony too.
Never better music than in the sixties. Great!
Really like the song. A great sixties feel to it. Good video to. Great stuff !!!
Just another verry good music from you
Love it
I love this song. I will be 67 on my next birthday, and this song makes me feel like I’m a teenager again. So much of this reminds me of the British Invasion music I listened to in my youth. Thanks for making me feel younger!
I already have the CD. I enjoyed the video.
Cool, fun song and video. Nice work all around. And I’m partial to all things “Joe,” which added to the enjoyment!
I absolutely love “Janitor Joe”. I want to be Janitor Joe when I retire. Janitor Joe is an amazingly imaginative song expressed in a most wonderful catchy tune. The premise of the song is brilliant capturing the imagination and aspirations of these times to explore and discover the truths out there in the universe. The song for me makes me feel so free and happy! Mona and Lisa, your creativity and imagination to create amazing songs like this impress to no end!
The video captures the creative story of Janitor Joe with wonderful perfection and superb graphic art animation. Kudos to Natalie Palumbo for doing such an incredible job on the video, your talent is brilliant and impressive.
I like it👍
I couldn’t hear/understand, what was it that Janitor Joe took?
Loved it, very cool, very nice job, thanks so much for sharing this video, outstanding!
One of my favorites off the album – so much fun, and a real rocker. And the video is dynamite, and just complements it perfectly. That’s just so great – thanks.
Natalie did a really good job animating and matching the video to the song and also including the name of the album “WHY?” on the school bell. Proud to say that I have the Janitor Joe “Studio Scribbles” and the “Why?” CD.
Beautiful song. Really enjoyed this one!
Love your janitor song
I already loved the song, and shared it across my (limited) social media….the video is – as you wrote – trippy….Brave, tutte! From Canada: keep the music coming…
Love it… something like a cross between a Beatles and David Bowie song.. pretty melody!
The video Janitor Joe is a very nice song with a unique 60’s style Thank you Mona Lisa Twins for sharing it.
Another twist on A Space Oddity! I love it!
Wonderful, gentle, fantasy song reminiscent of Bowie
Great video for a great song.
Very entertaining. a Mona Lisa Twins space Odyssey!
was that composed by Sir Paul because I could not tell. Loved. Maybe a Jimmy Buffett in honor of? Thank you for spreading joy
