    Thomas,

Yes he is a local guy here in Pittsburgh Pa And he passed a way 3 years ago at the young age of 65 and he was well known for his Christmas music and shows he did every year. But that song is a beautiful song to celebrate his growing up and family means to him. I am so glad for this Club to share our thoughts and music that helps build us and strengthen us thru this Covid lock down we are all experiencing this holiday. But B E Taylor was a wonderful person and he can hit those high notes with ease.

Yes it was a very small gathering at our place thanks to Covid. But we did share in some time with our kids and Maddie, and listened to Mona and Lisa Christmas album and Christmas Music. We sat up late and just talked about past Christmas and people who are not with us but enjoyed their memories.

    Jung,

Great post.  So many things made them great, with everything you mentioned. But they came at a time that the world needed something great and new and they offered that right off the get go. The world at that time was just coming off JFK and was just going thru the motions so to speak and the Beatles gave us something good to listen to and enjoy. My god their music will last forever in my opinion. Such great harmony, song writing, guitar riffs, and the songs hit it right at the right time in the world. Although I am a huge fan of the Rolling Stones, but the Beatles are the ones that made it all work and opened the door and as Keith Richard said one time, we kicked the door down…LOL..So Mona and Lisa are making sure that the music lasts moving forward. How about their version of We can work it out at the end of their live stream? How cool was that? So thank you Mona and Lisa for keeping this great music alive !

    Jung,

Very great to read this post. One of my bucket lists is to learn to play the piano. Would love to do that someday. For me, I have XM radio and have been listening to Christmas Music from great Artists like Nat King Cole, Tony Bennet , Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald etc…and I just sit back and close my eyes and enjoy the beauty of this classic music. But to answer your question Jung, I agree the sound of the wind  , the rhythm of the rain on my roof of my home is great to me and just love music so much don’t know what I would do if I did not have music and the Mona Lisa Twins

How about Gordan Lightfoot? If you can read my mind? 1970 had a lot of great songs again a spill over from the 60’s to me. Chicago was the group that year. Carpenters also were big and Karen Carpenter had such a lovely voice and if you get a chance? UTube her playing drums, wow she was very good.

    Jacki,

I am with you, my parents ( grand parents raised me ) have been gone for 20 plus years and I miss them dearly. The world is in a very dark place and praying for a light at the end of tunnel for us all. I miss seeing my family and going to concerts etc…..BUT the Mona Lisa Twins and their Christmas Album is a joy to listen to. How about Santa Baby? When I first saw this I said oh no not another song with that Nature them but they surprised me and did a different take on it and made it fun to listen to. So I Play drums and I have asked Santa for new drums for quite some time, my set I have now is old so maybe Mona can help me and ask Santa to hook me up…LOL….

  • So this shows how much talent the Mona Lisa Twins have. To take a beautiful song and make it their own. It amazes me how talented these ladies are.  I Know I may say this to much I guess but these ladies are in a very small group that can do covers and do them well. My example of this is Elvis, how many songs he has covered and did a great job at it. One I recall is You Lost That Loving Feeling from his   1970 film That’s the way it is. He raised the bar on that song. But I am so glad the Mona Lisa Twins finally did this song and boy did they do a great production job. How beautiful the sights are in this video and seeing the horses is breath taking for me. I am sure pa pa and Michelle have a hand in the production of their video’s and as I always say, it is worth the wait. Thank you Mona and Lisa and MLT team for a wonderful Christmas gift!

Thank you everyone! Maddie lives with us, long story for another time. But she loves Wide Wide Land, Two of us, This Boy is mine, and Did you ever have to make up your mind, just to name a few. She sings these songs in the shower ! So great to hear. My son Josh down Loaded that picture for me and he is showing me how to do it so I can show more photos to you all. Heck Maddie almost did it for me, but got hung up, pretty sad at 62 I can’t figure that out….LOL….She is 7 years old and her birthday is in February.
