You mentioned Please Release me by Elvis and what a great choice. He does that song so well and Engelbert Humperdick did it in 1967 and Elvis did it in the Las Vegas Shows in 1969 and 1970. This is one great example of an artist doing a cover and making it their own. I feel The Mona Lisa Twins do this exactly  and in some cases I feel is better that the original. So this ties in with the theme of free I think. That The MLT are free to cover great songs and do them so well.

I am so amazed with the song writing of this album and the great guitar and drum work. The riffs are incredible and the drum work is perfect.

Just to jump in here with a bit of a story on this song. Remember I asked if anyone hear of B E Taylor? Well on his Christmas Shows, he had a great band of local musicians and one guy who was in the band is named Herbie Gernadi  and B E Would highlight each member to do a song and Herbie did Oh Darlin and would sneak in Please come home for Christmas by the Eagles and wow he blew the roof off the house, so your correct that the song is very powerful vocally and Herbie did it justice.

    Hi Mona,

Thank you so much for getting back to me! Such a great story and yes Dad did a great job on the piano for sure! Makes you want to get up and dance along and has such a great up lifting feeling ! So cool that Dad is such a huge part of the Mona Lisa Twins with his experience and knowledge of the music industry. I had the Orange album on today coming home and that song is such a great way to start the album. I needed that song today, work is crazy anymore and that song helps me put the worries of the day away!

Great responses club members! Again what a great break out album of original music and like you all or at least some of you, i saw most of the songs on U Tube but listening to it in the car takes it to another level. Such great guitar work, drum work, vocals etc and as mentioned before can you imagine what the next album will be like? And I do not mean to make bad of record company’s and stock holders, they have a business to run and they do a great job at it  it is refreshing to see the Mona Lisa Twins take this journey on their own and take their time making and refining their craft.

    Jung,

June was on my mind first thing today when I woke up, it has that Till There Was You feel effect to me with the rhythm and guitar strumming and picking. Love it

I was fortunate to see them in Concert and they put on a good show. This was back in the day that Dan was the drummer, and I don’t think he is still drumming for them anymore. He was a great drummer and loved the percussion on Beginings at the end of the song

    Jung,

One of your favorites, Sweet Lorraine. The lyrics are very well written and very good story to follow. And the Duo session of this song takes it to another level for me. And the little kiss Mona does is cool! But we all have to agree that this music that they do, is well done and done with such good hearted spirit and love there is no way you can not love this music. I said it before and I will repeat, I am so glad I found the Mona Lisa Twins and their music. My life is music and this fits right into my wheel house and makes my days so much better.

Great question here, I Just sent the ladies a question on the song No More Worry’s Company song. And asked who wrote it or was a group effort.  But maybe the answer is right here and every song is different.
