Hi Daryl.
Great name!
I still have a couple of hundred or so vinyl records, got rid of most of them some years ago.
I have a Technics SL1200GR turntable which gets used several times a week, so still enjoy the experience.

Nice. The latest models have a belly carve which makes them even more comfortable if you’re generously proportioned like me 🙂

I have a Squier Affinity Tele, along with quite a few other guitars.
I’d say go for it. The Affinity models have a slightly thinner body and are a bit lighter, and the backs of the neck aren’t sprayed with lacquer and so don’t get sticky.
The one I bought also had a fantastic fret job. Beautiful rolled edges and just really nice to play.

Cool pics, thanks!
My Christmas card is still winging its way down here. Might keep it for this Christmas now 🙂

My first question: Can I have a go on your guitars? 🙂
The interview would quickly turn into a gear talk and jam session!

Looks great Jung.
Just coming into Spring down here so all the flowers are nearly at their best.

I nearly choked on my vegemite on toast for breakfast while reading this.
I never used to have a favourite twin, but I do now!
Lisa, if you ever need any more vegemite just send me an email and I’d be happy to post some over 🙂

Cheers Greg.
I’ve been in the club since it started, however MLT moved to Liverpool a while before that.
I did a bit of research for the lyrics. They moved to Liverpool in 2014, so 7 x 12 = 84!
And they arrived in a red FIAT van (if my van ID skills are any good!) after the blue Merc broke down.

Just for some fun, I’ve rewritten a popular 70s song.
I’ve used some poetic licence of course, and some parts could be improved with more time, but what the hey.
MoLis is short for Mona and Lisa 🙂Sung to the tune of Living Next Door To Alice
Rudi called when he got the word
And he said “I suppose you’ve heard….about MoLis?”
Well I rushed to the window and I looked outside
And I could hardly believe my eyes
As a big Fiat van rolled up into next door’s driveOh I was disbelieving
It seems so long ago
I guess they got their reasons
But I justa got to know
Cos’ for 84 months I’ve been living next door to MoLis84 months just waiting for a chance
To tell them how I feel maybe have a little dance
And now I tap a my toes a lot, living next door to MoLisThey grew up together, two kids now grown up
They carved their initials, deep in the Club
Mona and Lisa
Now they walk through the door with their helds held high
Just for a moment I caught their eye
As a big Fiat van pulls slowly into MoLis’s driveOh I was disbelieving
It seems so long ago
I guess they got their reasons
But I justa got to know
Cos’ for 84 months I’ve been living next door to MoLis84 months just waiting for a chance
To tell them how I feel maybe have a little dance
And now I tap a my toes a lot, living next door to MoLisAnd Rudi called back and asked how I felt
And he said “I know how to help, get to know MoLis”
He said now Molis are fun, that’s what I hear
And I’ve known them for 27 years
And then I hear Mona and Lisa cheerOh I was disbelieving
It seems so long ago
I guess they got their reasons
But I justa got to know
Cos’ for 84 months I’ve been living next door to MoLis84 months just waiting for a chance
To tell them how I feel maybe have a little dance

Not to mention a very beefy guitar neck. That’s a lot of strain!

Hi JP,
I’ve owned a few of the smaller “terror” Orange amps and cabs, and have tried others in the shops.
Not a great clean sound, but they’re ideal for classic rock.
I keep going back to a Marshall JVM410 though. Gets a good clean sound and fantastic overdriven sounds, and is versatile enough to play in a covers band.

If anyone is wondering what a 7 chord sounds like, the most obvious example I can think of is She’s A Woman by the Beatles.
It’s that sharp, spiky sound.
-
They might have been extra pumped as Ringo had just rejoined them after recovering from tonsillitis.
-
With the added benefit of getting the house to yourselves for a few days 🙂
-
I’ve got plenty of room 🙂
Bring the acoustic guitars and we’ll have a sing along!
