Yeah there’s a number of videos on YouTube about this. Rick Beato being one.
It’s not YouTube that blocks the videos, it’s management companies and copyright owners who submit infringements to YouTube.
Amongst the blockers are the Beatles, Queen, Guns n Roses and The Eagles.
Don Henley told a recent inquiry into this issue that he has 60, yes 60, people who sit on a computer all day blocking Eagles music on social media platforms.
I can understand wanting to block entire songs, but blocking a small snippet of a song is a bit over the top I reckon.
What I’m not sure about is that covers seem to be OK. MLT have Hotel California and a bunch of Beatles covers on YouTube for example. I’m assuming those videos have been demonitised?

There’s a bunch of YouTube videos from people complaining about YouTube’s over zealous copyright strike process. Gotta give YouTube credit for at least not blocking those!!!!
There are a number of bands that are known blockers, the Beatles being one.

Gotta say though that the centre hub holder is a very tight fit. I was afraid I was going to break the disc trying to remove it. Pressing on the hub while removing the disc doesn’t seem to have an effect.

Haven’t received mine down here in Oz yet either however postage is pretty slow at the moment due to the pandemic.
There’s been a huge increase in online orders which has clogged up the system too.

Hi Jacki.
I reckon people at open mic nights are pretty accommodating of beginners, and appreciate anyone who gives it a go. I doubt you’d need to be worried.
Of course a couple of stiff drinks to calm the nerves might help, but not an option for you 🙂
As for setting your poem to music, maybe place an ad in the local papers (or the modern equivalents!). There are plenty of musos sitting around doing nothing at the moment and someone might jump at the challenge.
