Yeah being a drummer would suck. But at least they can park in the handicapped spots when they leave a pair of drumsticks on the dashboard!
I always help the drummer load and unload in any case.

No probs Jacki, no offence taken. My reply was meant to be funny as well but didn’t come across that way.
When I first visited family in England my uncle bought a 6 pack of Fosters and had it waiting in the fridge for me, thinking that we all drink Fosters. That’s down to a good marketing campaign. I thought it was rude to tell him that no-one in Oz drinks it, so he and I shared a few cold ones.

Gotta agree with the string changing. So far I’ve avoided my eye but I’ve poked myself in the finger and drawn blood plenty of times with the high E string!.
Can I add the Les Paul back?. Those things are heavy and can become a pain (literally) after playing them for a while.
And not to forget the end of night tear down and pack up. Just what is needed after a long exhausting night!

Hey Brett. Welcome aboard from an Adelaidian.
Jacki, no-one in Australia drinks Fosters!. If you get a chance try Coopers Pale Ale. That stuff is mother’s milk 🙂

Welcome Mike and Gary.
Gary, I hope Mike M bought you a beer :). Thanks for introducing them.

G’day John from a Crow Eater.
There are a few Aussies on the forum. Happy Australia day to us all 🙂

As much as I love them I try to stay away from guitar stores. Just too dangerous on the wallet. I get easily distracted by bright shiny things!
Been watching a lot of NAMM 2020 (music trade show) videos on YouTube and seen all the tasty stuff coming out soon. That’s not helping.

Hi Jung,
If you’re starting out then I reckon something like a Squier Strat, Yamaha Pacifica, or Epiphone if you are a Gibson fan would be a good start. I’m not sure what country you’re in but something around the 200 pound or 300 US dollars would be great to start at.
Cheap guitars are so much better these days.
For an amp you can’t go wrong with a Boss Katana for a learner. Plenty of sounds in there to keep you occupied and have fun with. I have one at home that I play around with from time to time.
I’m not really up with acoustics but again something from the brands above would be fine.
The most important thing with a beginner guitar is get one that you love the looks of. When you see it sitting in the corner of your lounge room you want it to beckon you to come over, pick it up and play it. That will make learning much easier.

I’m going to put my Aussie hat on and suggest Living In A Child’s Dream by The Master’s Apprentices.
I think this song would suit a stripped down duo version. It has some nice harmonies, some cool guitar work, and more than three chords to keep things interesting.
