Member10/04/2022 at 11:20 in reply to: Group or artist that had a profound impact on youI love so many different genres of music (60’s, Rock, Heavy Metal, Country, Classical… just to name a few). Instead of picking a specific group, I’m going to talk about Disco (not a four letter word….it’s five). In the middle 70’s, I have so many fond memories of going out dancing and fell in love with Disco (not the Bee Gees though). One day I’d be at the disco and then the next week find myself sleeping out for AC/DC tickets. I also love Funk. I included a few of my favorites below.

I’m with you. I was kind of sad for a few days when they stopped doing the Ask The MLT Forum the old way, But, I was also concerned about all the time they spent responding to emails. I’ve never had the privilege to have such close contact with any of my favorite artists. It’s kind of strange because in a crazy cosmic way they feel like my adopted nieces and I really care about them. I hope that I can see them perform some day and meet some of my fellow club members. I’ll say this again. They are the best duo of the 21st century.

Hi David,
That’s me on the right in 1980. Great topic!

Always happy to have you join in. Cool story about your birth. I’m not familiar with those songs. I’ll take a listen.

Thanks for chiming in. Jung I know we are the same age and Happy Belated Birthday Mr. 59. Crazy to think we are on the countdown to 60. However, I choose to think only positive thoughts about the future.

Of course, “Surfin USA” is cool (the year I was born), but the number 1 pop song in 1981 was “Bette Davis Eyes” by Kim Carnes. Since I can’t stand that song, I went for the number one rock song
