This is about a legend and one of the first songs I fondly remember. ‘Puff The Magic Dragon’ by Peter, Paul and Mary

    Tom, Thanks for the compliment!

    24. I learned from Alan Smith that Stealers Wheel ‘Stuck In The Middle With You’ inspired Sheryl Crow’s ‘All I Wanna Do’. I’ve also learned we have a lot of incredible people in the club. I’m honored to be a member.

Guns N Roses’ November Rain (my first choice would’ve been ‘Autumn Leaves’, one of my all time favorites). This has almost 2 billion hits on You Tube

Deleted the video. A little edgy

Thanks for your reply Tom. I was raised on Roger Miller’s Greatest Hits. One of the few gems in my parent’s pathetic record collection.

    Hi guys,

Jurgen, you brought up ‘House of The Risining Sun’. I was listening to an MLT playlist on YouTube recently. You know how they insert other groups sometimes? I discovered this Americana Folk band from Detroit doing a rendition of this song. Except they insert ‘Amazing Grace’ in the duet to the melody. I think it is better than ‘The Animals’. What do you think? Their name is Athens Creek.

I love watching the banter between young Mona and Lisa before the video. I also got a kick out of all the cut out kitten pictures attached to the wall.

Great question Michael!! I thought that bird skit was hilarious. Mona, if you read this…..the editing was perfect.

  • I also love a good horror movie. ‘The Shining’ is one of my all-time favorites. Of course, Berlioz ‘Symphony Fantastique is the perfect accompaniment.

  • I’m not a James Bond movie fan, but there is sure great music

  • This is such a great topic Jorgen. I’ll probably have to chime in a few times. First of all I’m a big indie movie fan. I go to the Sundance Film Festival every year. I think MLT could do some great things with that genre.

I love so many different soundtracks. Often. I love the sound track and find the movie only mildly entertaining. One example. ‘Flightless Bird, American Mouth’ by Iron and Wine (Twilight)

    Hi Jurgen,

Getting back to your question about Utah. You should google pictures of Salt Lake City. It is absolutely beautiful (right next to the Wasatch Mountains). It is in the Western US and is half a days drive to some of the most beautiful national parks in the US ( Yellowstone (in Wyoming), Arches National Park and Zion National Park). We had the Winter Olympics in 2002 and also have the Sundance Film Festival every year. The scenery is so diverse. You should Google all of the places I mentioned. I’ve been to Germany before (mostly Bavaria) and fell in love with all of the beauty in your country.

    Hello Jurgen,

That was fascinating!! Boy, I really learned a lot. I remember 8-track tapes in high school (Both Jung and I are the same age. We were born about a week apart). I was so excited to get cassette tapes and a Sony Walkman. Crazy how time flies. Once again, nice chatting. Once all of this COVID madness is over, I hope to see MLT live, even if I have to fly to Europe. Where do you live?

Great topic Jung ! We can’t talk about pioneers without mentioning Les Paul. The first thing he invented was the harmonica holder
