Got To Get You Into My Life’ was one I wrote when I had first been introduced to pot. I’d been a rather straight working-class lad but when we started to get into pot it seemed to me to be quite uplifting… I didn’t have a hard time with it and to me it was mind-expanding, literally mind-expanding.
So ‘Got To Get You Into My Life’ is really a song about that, it’s not to a person, it’s actually about pot. It’s saying, I’m going to do this. This is not a bad idea. So it’s actually an ode to pot, like someone else might write an ode to chocolate or a good claret.
Paul McCartney
This is crazy. Paul said ‘Fixing A Hole’ is about the people nagging him to stop smoking.

Jacki,
I couldn’t agree more. I’m a child of the 70’s too. I’m always amazed at how they never miss the bull’s eye. I’m excited for this Friday to hear some of their new original music!! -
Tuesday I have Friday on my mind!!! I CAN’T WAIT

I always enjoy reading your posts. I did notice someone missing from the many lists. I think Nancy Wilson from Heart is superb.

Carl Wilson said they were influenced by The Ventures “Walk Don’t Run”

Those videos are very interesting and heart breaking. I’m a jail nurse and frequently deal with everything mentioned in Van Gogh’s story (EVERYTHING). I’m so passionate about mental health parity. I can’t even get started or I’ll be here all night. ‘Vincent’ is such a beautiful song and the girls never cease to amaze me. I think most of the time their covers are better than the originals.

Jung,
I’m glad you love that music. Groovilicious didn’t pass the spell check (haha). I love that word!! I’m in awe of music that was made 400 years ago and we are still listening to it. The simplicity of the chord progressions fill my soul. From one night owl to another. You rock!!

I love Classical music!! My favorite is the Baroque period (especially Bach and Vivaldi). Just to name a few. I love Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” and Bach’s “Air on the G-String” (even if the title sounds like a cold pole dancer). I could go on and on. One more is Bach’s “Concerto for Two Violins”. I will have to say after seeing what Lisa can do with the Ukulele, it could be retitled “Concerto for One Violin and a Ukulele”

I first heard this song in the movie Jerry Maguire. Cameron Crowe directed it and his wife Nancy Wilson (from Heart) did the original music. Junk was played during their (Tom Cruise and Renee Zellweger) first kissing scene on the porch. It’s hard to believe this movie was made in 1996 when Mona and Lisa were only two years old.

(I think we are the same age right? Class of 81. Now, I’m so MLT crazy that nobody rises to their level. It’s so cool to chat with other people who feel the same way
