It’s fascinating to me how, with regard to units of measurement, Canada seems to be caught in a tug-of-war between U.S. proximity and worldwide standardization. I just hope you guys don’t weigh yourself in “stone”.

And this is my favorite solo George, but more for the video than for the song:

My favorite solo Paul song is Take It Away, which I just posted recently on another thread. But this one is a close second:

I think I found it, Jung. I’ll give it a whirl this weekend!

I haven’t seen that one, Jung, but I remember hearing about it when it came out. After watching that trailer and reading the synopsis, I’ll definitely have to check it out. As a guy who once dreamed of becoming a famous scientist, I can really relate to the last sentence of the synopsis: “Ultimately, Mr. Holland realizes that his true passion is teaching and his legacy is the generations of young people he inspires.”

Apparently Carly Simon was really into this sister thing:

Yeah, I guess I’ve pretty much always lived the gooey, syrupy lifestyle. In the last decade or so I’ve acquired a taste for somewhat spicy foods (Mexican, Indian, etc.), but that’s about it.
Sorry about the upcoming nightmares, JP. But I understand there’s a beverage you can drink that will forestall sleeping…

Because of it I still have never tried coffee. (Well, that and the fact that I can’t stand the smell.) It was sung as a round, with these hard-hitting lyrics repeated over and over:
C – O – F – F – E – E .
Coffee is not for me.
It’s a drink some people wake up with.
That it makes them nervous is no myth.
Slaves to a coffee cup.
They can’t give coffee up.

That’s a nifty song, Jung. It sounds like the kind of song that you could enjoy as a little kid, and then you listen to it again as an adult and discover a whole new level to it.

The science teacher in me feels compelled to point out that the Coriolis effect is negligible for something as small as a sink, and water does not actually prefer to swirl down the drain in one direction based on which hemisphere it’s in.

This is really stretching the definition, but technically this is a song about a little sister:

I thought I had purged my brain of this sort of dreck long ago, but apparently I missed a corner.

Just to be clear, I didn’t intend to imply anything between the lines about the appropriateness of emojis. I’ve just never been motivated to use them, and I tend to ignore them when I see them.
-
You’re welcome, Joe.
I don’t know how to do emojis, here or anywhere else. Maybe Jacki can weigh in on that; they’re her specialty.

Joe, just FYI, you can go back in and correct a typo or what not by clicking on EDIT, to the top right of your post.
