This is my favorite post-Wings McCartney song, largely because of the intermittent Chicago-like instrumentation:

Okay, I guess I could post a video here. This is an amusing little number from the final performance of the Weavers (Pete Seeger’s group), shortly before Lee Hays died:

And come to think of it, I’m not really much of a fan of hot beverages in general. They just don’t stay within a pleasant range of temperatures over the time it takes to drink them.

Jacki, when I listened to the first video, the intro immediately made me think of Seasons in the Sun. Then I saw in the second video that one of the members of that group was Terry Jacks!

Jung, I’d happily try Red Rose if it’s sweetened and iced. Otherwise it wouldn’t be a fair comparison. I don’t understand the appeal of hot tea.

I’ve always thought that the Beatles should have covered Elvis’ “Little Sister” in their early days. I can readily picture John singing the vocal in a higher key and in his “Twist and Shout” voice, and George playing that descending guitar riff.

I don’t know if I represent most Americans, but for me, tea is basically a flavor of Kool-Aid. I go for a long walk in the hot sun, and when I get back I reach into the fridge and take a few swigs from a big plastic jug of sweet tea. None of that cultured, extended-pinky stuff for me.

That’s an interesting question, Bill. I imagine it would depend on the size of their entourage. If they don’t have backing musicians then they might stick to the songs they’ve done in the duo sessions. And if they don’t have roadies then they would probably try to minimize the number of times they need to switch out or retune their instruments.
I like Michael’s idea of original songs before intermission, and covers after. As a variation on that, a couple of years ago I saw Peter Yarrow perform at a small venue, and at the start of the show he said, “I’m gonna do the songs I want to do first, and after intermission I’ll do the songs YOU want me to do.” In the lobby there was a table where we could write down our requests during the break. Of course, that’s easier to manage when it’s just one guy with one instrument.

I think Pete Townshend was separated at birth from U.S. President John Tyler:
