I’m not well-versed in classical music, but when I first saw and heard those stringed instruments on “Still a Friend of Mine”, I thought of Pachelbel’s Canon.
That reminds me of a video I found years ago that I think you’d enjoy:

I’ve never seen “Not the Nine O’clock News”, but I was a big fan of an American show that it inspired, called “Not Necessarily the News”.

Fantastic job by your niece, Tomas! I’ll be in the front row at her first concert.

Okay, I have to admit that you guys have shattered a long-held stereotype of mine: I thought that NASCAR had zero following outside of the southeastern U.S., much less north of the border!
I grew up in Kentucky, but I was always a fan of Indy car racing rather than NASCAR. That faded away as I grew older, but I still watch the Indianapolis 500 every year. When I was a kid I had to listen to it on the radio because I lived in the “local blackout” area for TV coverage, which seemed absurd because Indianapolis was a 3.5 hour drive from where I lived. The race itself took less time than that!

And one of my biggest stand-up comedy heroes, Norm MacDonald!

Thanks, Howard. I tend to be a bit on the pedantic side myself.
The “Naked Gun” series was actually a movie adaptation of “Police Squad!” The TV series aired six years before the first movie, but was cancelled after just six episodes. I loved it because it was created by the same team that gave us the “Airplane!” movie, and featured the same kind of jokes.

Thank you! Glad to be able to help.
The cognitive dissonance actually rekindled fond memories of an old TV series where each week the announcer intoned the title of the episode, while the screen caption simultaneously displayed a completely different title:

For those who haven’t heard Paul tell the story of the distorted Rubber Soul photo:

If Wikipedia is correct, their last show will be November 16th. So there may still be time!

That’s right, Jacki. I had to look up the details, but Alan’s eight (!) sons make up “The Osmonds – Second Generation”.
-
Such a shame. I read that Wayne has substantial hearing loss also.
-
I think her brothers are aging for her, Howard. It’s like a Dorian Gray thing.
The Osmonds may never have been considered to be hip, but they have the same powerful family bonds that we all see and admire in the Wagner family.
-
I was a regular Donny and Marie viewer too, Jacki. I also remember the Osmonds Saturday morning cartoon from a few years earlier, which shows briefly on the background screen.

Thank you for uncovering this gem, Howard! I had never heard it. I love the smooth vocals going into and out of falsetto. It reminds me of both “Silence Is Golden” and “New York’s a Lonely Town”.
