I always feel the same way, Roger. But this year, with the 11 live streams in 23 days, I can tell myself that I’ve overstayed my welcome at a friend’s house and should give them a little time to get everything back in order.

That’s a really great video, Jung! It explains the capabilities and accomplishments of Webb in a way that anyone can understand.

One thing that a lot of people don’t appreciate about NASA is what an incredible return on investment they provide. Their funding amounts to just a fraction of a percent of the U.S. budget, and yet they always return amazing images and scientific data, just as advertised.

Even when spacecraft become crippled (such as Voyager 2 and Galileo), the engineers manage to devise a workaround to salvage the mission. And most spacecraft end up lasting for many times longer than their designed lifetimes, resulting in vast quantities of additional science that is essentially free.

I think I’d agree with your list, Jung. For my musical taste, John’s songwriting talents peaked sharply on Rubber Soul, although I’ll give props to Strawberry Fields Forever also.

Sister harmonies are the best! I discovered this family group on TV about 25 years ago, and this song of theirs is still living rent-free in my head:

I discovered these guys myself a few months ago, Peter, and I was really impressed! I think I posted their cover of Stand By Me here in another discussion thread.

MLT listening party down by the lake, everyone! Followed by dinner at the best Mexican restaurant in Santa Fe.

  • From a record I used to listen to when I was a little kid:

Sitting in our seats, we’re such good boys and girls,

When Johnny ties an ink well on Mary Jo’s curls.

Mary turns her head, and the bottle goes splat.

Teacher turns around and says, “Who did that?”

I’ll see that dedication, Thomas, and raise you a dedication of “Thank You for the Music”.

    Hey, Tomás.

The total number of views per day for September was 33953, for October was 33561, and for November was 37654. For She Loves You in particular, the numbers were 1804, 1834, and 1558. So there’s not really a strong trend lately in either case, but maybe something will develop.

  • I blame the accompanying dance. In terms of requisite degree of coordination, it ranks right up there with the alley cat, the hustle, and the macarena.
