And just a heads-up that April is International Guitar Month!

Speaking of the Grand Canyon, I think Mona and Lisa once noted that they took a side trip there during their California visit. Does anyone recall whether they posted any photos from that excursion? I’m drawing a blank.

They said in the last newsletter that they were planning to film and post a new Q&A video this week, so that’s what I’m anticipating.

I feel the same about that rehearsal video, Jung. I had just joined the club when they posted it, and watching the door open to reveal Mona and Lisa playing while sitting on the floor just stripped away several psychological layers of separation that normally stand between an artist and a fan. They suddenly seemed like real everyday people, but at the same time my awe of them professionally was not diminished in the slightest.
And yes, that beautiful snippet of Nowhere Man swam around in my head for an agonizingly long time before we finally got the finished product!

Although I have some Irish ancestry on my dad’s side (a couple of great-great grandparents in the old country by the name of Doyle), I don’t really celebrate it as such. However, if it weren’t for St. Patrick’s Day, grade school teachers in the U.S. would have no theme for decorating their classrooms in March.
-
I completely forgot that I have a couple of other great-great grandparents named Shannon, so I’m twice as Irish as I had thought!
Here’s a funny story that my Dad once told me about his grandmother (the daughter of the Shannons, born in the U.S.). It sounds like a joke, but he swears it’s true:
She worked in a soup kitchen in the very early 1900’s, and at that time it was serving a lot of Irish immigrants, one of whom had never heard of corn on the cob. After polishing off an ear, he handed the cob back to her and said, “Put some more beans on me stick!”

Hooray! And I shan’t go hungry while I’m strumming, because Feb. 2nd is also Bubblegum Day, Tater Tot Day, Kiwifruit Day, Crepe Day, and Heavenly Hash Day. (I was into that sort of thing a couple of years ago; it makes every day worth getting up for!)
-
Thanks, Jung. I guess I’m not as crazy as I thought. But I’ll keep working on it!
-
Ah, that makes much more sense geographically. I’m always confusing the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, and Yellowstone in my head. Never been to any of them, but hope to see at least one of them some day.
-
By the way, Nowhere Man should reach a million views itself sometime in July.

That’s wild, Tim! I can see how YouTube could figure out where you’re logging in from, but I can’t imagine how they could know your age and gender unless you volunteer it.
I can only guess that a lot of people subscribe impulsively to a channel and then forget about it or lose interest in it. If subscriptions last until you deliberately cancel them, that might explain how the number of subscribers could be a lot more than the number of views.
What would be of most use to me with regard to analytics is a file containing a timeline giving the exact instant that each view of each video began and ended. Then I could bin the data however I like to examine trends on any timescale.
I guess I’ll look up some YouTube videos about YouTube analytics!

Well, that may not be it, but once I accidentally clicked on “Aa” (“show formatting”) while I was typing, and all that garbage appeared. Clicking on it again presumably would remove the formatting.

Hey, Len.
I think you can clear out the gobbledygook by clicking on the “Aa” icon at the bottom of your message when you’re in editing mode.
