Another great source of British humor… or “humour”, as they humorously spell it:

Very cool, David! I never looked around enough to see that there’s a place where the total number of channel views is listed. I once figured it out by adding up the views of all the videos, but that wasn’t a lot of fun to do…

Normally MLT posts a new video on YouTube on the last Sunday of the month. This one was a week late, and I was getting rather… tired of waiting!

    For the last hour of October 2nd, the numbers for Tired of Waiting are V = 14328 and C = 32.8. For October 3rd, V = 9576 and C = 22.0. For October 4th, V = 4994 and C = 11.4. For October 5th, V = 4508 and C = 10.3. For October 6th, V = 5127 and C = 11.7.

My first introduction to the Beatles’ backstory was the 1982 documentary The Compleat Beatles. All You Need Is Cash (the Rutles mockumentary) was done in a very similar style, so I was quite surprised to learn that it was made several years earlier!

A classic example of comic misdirection:

Cool song, but I gotta let Neil Sedaka get a word in here:

I came across this around ten years ago, and I still think I dreamed it. Not technically comedy, but Paul can make just about anything funny:

And my favorite spoken scene from A Hard Day’s Night:

This is probably my favorite comic moment from Help:

I’m betting that Pretty Little Thing is the Neve song.

You’re really expanding my literary horizons, Juergen! I don’t know Terry Pratchet either.

Juergen, I had no idea that the Hitchhiker’s Guide theme song was taken from an old Eagles song; I thought it was original!

I have to say that I do really like the BBC series, but that may partly be because I saw it in the same era that I was learning about the Beatles and Monty Python, so anything British and funny was appealing to me.

I’m not familiar with Stanislaw Lem, but anyone who is both a physicist and a humorist is someone I would enjoy investigating!

Yeah, All You Need Is Cash is great! Actually, I’m not familiar with Can’t Buy Me Lunch; I’ll have to check that one out.

I just looked up The Compleat Beatles on YouTube, and could only find short excerpts. It was on cable TV all the time in the mid-80’s so I was rather surprised. Now I’ve just found out that Paul bought the rights to the documentary during the making of Anthology, and has been sitting on it ever since, so it’s never been released on DVD. Kinda sad, because it’s very well made, and a much more reasonable length (two hours) for introducing the Beatles to new fans.

Juergen, I had no idea that Paul was in that movie! Of course I never saw the movie, but usually when Paul does something like that I find out about it somehow.
