And we now know the titles of all twelve songs, plus the track sequence, from the image of the back of the CD.

Hey, Diana! I don’t doubt that you had an amazing time! I suppose that’s pretty much the ultimate MLT experience, short of being backstage at a concert. So far I’ve had no luck with any MLT giveaways, but that’s just a little extra motivation for me to keep tuning in.

Thanks for passing on the Janitor Joe anecdote to them! Groovy to hear that they found it interesting.

Hey, John, I’m glad to hear the call went well! I had been imagining that if I had that opportunity, I would dissolve into a drooling lump of flesh with a vacant grin plastered on my face. Thanks for reassuring me (and probably a lot of other club members) that Mona and Lisa can make such an encounter an awesome and unintimidating experience.

This song has an ethereal vibe similar to Starman and Nothing Is in Vain:

David Bennett took most of the good ones, but here are a few other few piano intros that I really like, not necessarily because they are technically brilliant, but because they do such a great job setting the mood of the song:

Averaged over the past week, the Neve video is at V = 146 and C = 1.78. Pretty honking impressive!

Meanwhile, That’s Life is just a few hours away from becoming the first MLT original song to reach half a million YouTube views! Update: the odometer rolled over to 500,000 at 11:30 AM New York time today.

Like a lot of us, I discovered MLT when one of their videos showed up while I was perusing YouTube. It was When I’m Sixty-Four, and I clicked on it because I love that song and I’ve never heard anyone cover it before. I was impressed enough to check out their channel, where I found their take on Maxwell’s Silver Hammer: another sleeper favorite that I never thought I’d see anyone cover. The rarity of song choices drew me in, but it was their musical talent and production effort and sunny disposition that ultimately hooked me.

You won’t regret that Bluray purchase, Juergen! There’s one full episode on YouTube that you could whet your appetite with while you wait.

I just found an interview with Leslie Nielsen in which he does a post-mortem on Police Squad. He says the consensus of the creative team was that the show failed because the average TV viewer has to contend with too many distractions to deal with a situation in which all the humor is blink-and-you’ll-miss-it. So that’s why they later went to the movie format, with much more success.
