OK……here are my acoustic “kids”. Glad Roger took the lead on this one.
On the bottom from left to right are: Breedlove E/A, Takamine E/A, Gibson J-45 E/A, Gibson Hummingbird E/A, Dean Resonator E/A, Crafter Acoustic, Washburn Acoustic, 1979 Guild Acoustic, Martin DX-12 Acoustic, Martin D-35 Acoustic, Martin Roadmaster E/A, and Martin DX-12 E/A. Missing in action is a Dean 6 string banjo and a 1978 Fender F-35 Acoustic (it’s my autograph guitar and contains autographs of Poco, PPL, NGDB, Peter Asher, Jeremy Clyde).

Hi Roger;
You and I sound alike. I have a few guitars…..under 30 but enough such that the guitars have their own room. I have a couple of group pics of mine, but I am hesitant to post because well…….it has not become a common post here. But, I would share the pics upon request. Maybe emailing to interested Club members would be the way to go. Mike. -
Hi Roger!! Welcome to the group. We are glad you are here. And, you’ll find out that many of us are at the age where we are glad to be anywhere!!! Mike.

1960s TV…..might as well start with the Dick Van Dyke show. From there maybe F Troop but it was considered politically incorrect even back then. Other shows: Get Smart, maybe Andy Griffith, Laugh-In. Ones to avoid: My Mother the Car, Mister Ed, The Monkees (well maybe not….…). Toss ups: The Munsters and The Addams Family. Mike.

Hi Jackie;
I’ve always liked your art. These are great!!! Mike.

A similar group from back then is Spanky and Our Gang, Like To Get To Know You would be an interesting cover especially with the ending of the song. MLT could let their creativity go….the male vocal leads on the “outtro” could be a challenge but if they can put a flute in a Beatles cover, then anything can happen.
Another song that I mentioned a while back was Chad and Jeremy’s Summer Song. My wife and I saw Peter and Jeremy (now you really have to concentrate real hard to say Peter and Jeremy and not something else) a few months ago in Boston. Summer Song has been a favorite of mine since ’65. Mike.

I believe that it is due to a “backlog” of questions to Mona and/or Lisa. It could take them awhile to answer your question but they will get to it. They are so busy between gigs and doing videos and writing music that their answers can take some time. Until they are able to answer the question, the “awaiting moderation” tag is there. Mike.

Maxwell!! It shows the danger of playing the bass too long. Mike.

Some songs take me back to where I was and what I was doing at the time the song was popular. Also, I have read that music causes both halves of the brain to work and interact with each other…….Some believe that when you get older that can avoid, at best, or postpone dementia. Music also allows us to be creative…..either in composing our own music or re-arranging known music and I believe we were born to be creative in some aspect of life. Music can also change our moods when listening to certain songs…….most of the time it elevates are moods. I could go on and on. Mike

I’m not saying I disagree with you but I would feel funny about posting my instruments or uploading anything until it is a common practice on the board. I guess I am waiting for someone else to take the lead on this before I would feel comfortable doing it. I’m a real gear head and enjoy having a “few” instruments. Each guitar has it’s own sound and “personality” which is hard to explain to someone who is not a guitarist. So, for having several guitars it is about the different sounds each one makes and how different songs need the various different guitars/sounds. There are differences between Ricks, Gibsons, Gretsch, and Fenders on the electric side. Even within Gibson electric the SG sounds different compared to the ES series and the LPs are different still. On the acoustic side there is that old Martin mellow sound that it makes and Gibson acoustics tend to be a little more “twangy”. So, I guess I am saying that I would agree with posting our instruments and talking about the instruments because I really like the technical stuff about music making. Mike.

Hi Mona;
Yes it does. Sounds like pretty high level enhancements to get the sound. Thank you so much for the answer. You are so kind. Mike.

I had forgotten about The Avengers. And contrary to popular rumors……I did not watch Get Smart and the Avengers only because of Barbara Feldon and Diana Rigg, respectively. I watched for the comedy and drama, too!!!

Hi again;
Sounds like you will fit right in. I agree the MLT music is so unusual for this time period. Also, I am right behind you in age. I’ll be 66 in a couple of months. Mike.

Yeah, Howard, I see what you mean. When I hear “Roll Over Beethoven”, I think of George more than I do Chuck Berry. With Long Tall Sally I think of Paul more so than Little Richard. BTW I think Paul’s cover of LTS is so much better than the original. Mike.
