My 2 cents…..I don’t believe that MLT should try to reality/talent show route. They have already proven themselves and sometimes winning or participating in those shows is more of a hindrance than a help. Very few who win in those shows become “successful” and if they win, often they are restricted to releasing LPs under the control of whoever is running the show….….this means they would lose much creative control.
Also, I watched a documentary on ABBA the other night and, even though they were wildly successful in the 1970s, they went through some very rough times during the 1970s and afterwards. What ABBA went though I would not wish on anyone. Mike.

I’m not sure I can restrict it to 10 but I’ll try:
1) Still A Friend
2) Close To You
3) Sweet Lorraine
4) In It For Love
5) June
6) If I Fell
7) You’re Gonna Lose That Girl
8) I’ll Follow The Sun
9) Yesterday
10) Bus Stop
And it should be 20 to take.

If I Fell…..followed closely by You’re Gonna Lose That Girl, Maxwell, and This Boy. Mike.

I forgot one of the close tied for 2nd place songs…..”I’ll Follow the Sun” (still like the flute break. For If I Fell that one is the favorite because they do it so well and show they can play many different instruments. The last shot on the video of Lisa pointing the bow at us is still classic. Mike.

I believe it was in the late summer or early fall of 2015. I was going through YouTube for some Beatles videos and stumbled across MLT covers to Beatles’ songs. Played several of them and then discovered they had a website and their own CDs and I order them. From then on I was hooked. Mike.

I’d play rhythm guitar and sing……that’s the easy part. The song??? Likely Sweet Lorraine. Whenever I hear it, I can’t help but harmonize with it. Mike.

I believe it is terribly subjective and, as such, depends on individual taste. There are things that Paul did which I believe were brilliant and things he did which are just fillers. Same goes for John. George was held back to his 1 or 2 songs per LP and by the White Album he showed he was a strong songwriter. I agree that individually they were never as good as they were collectively.
Personally I liked the Beatles’ songs from 1964 to Sgt. Peppers and then it skips to Abbey Road. I tend to like John’s music that was influenced by Dylan (from Help! to Revolver) more than his other periods. For Paul I liked his songs throughout the Beatles. George’s material grew over time and the triumvirate of While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Something, and Here Comes the Sun ranks with many of the Lennon-McCartney compositions. Now Ringo is a very unique drummer (a lefty on a right-handed kit) and many of his drum parts are hard to replicate and some were very imaginative (Day Tripper and Come Together). They all brought something to the group and we benefitted from it during those 6 or so years. Mike.

Yep, Close to You is one of my favorites of theirs, too…..along with Still A Friend and Count on Me, In It For Love, Sweet Loraine. I think I’m pretty much listing all the songs on Orange… Mike.

I agree, too…..To be the best musical time period, as I believe I have stated a number of time, is from 1964 to around 1975. So many musical innovations during that time period….from Beatles to RnR to country-rock to R&B to soul and every combination in between. I kinda see MLT as a throw back to those RnR and pop roots of the 1960s but carried forward some to reflect some modern trends in music. Regardless, their music is better than anything else I have listened to in a long, long time. Mike.

Hi Original Mike;
It appears the Cavern Club has been through a few renovations and moves over the years. It also looks like it was renamed for a period of time, too. I went to the Club’s website and there are quite a few changes to it over the years.
The Other Mike.

Hi Howard;
I was pretty much sticking with the songs on Orange…..but if I include the first one, then I agree with your choices and a few more. There are not many songs I don’t like on either LP. Mike.

Hi Daniel;
Funniest thing……I was just watching the Beatles’ first appearance on Sullivan last night and saw that George was playing the Gretsch….I could tell it was not a Jet and even wondered a bit if it was a Gibson ES-335, Then I saw the Gretsch logo and knew it had to be the CG. Mike.

I know of two music production companies that allow the artist to be nearly independent: Drifter’s Church and Blue Elan. They are small scale and pretty much hands-off. Mike.
