I love that attitude. We are a very diverse group with one thing we all like, i.e. MLT music.
I also really like your art work. Please keep doing it. One day when I record I will share some covers and original work (but only if it is good……Ha Ha). The only thing standing in my way of recording some songs is a mic to connect to the PC. The built it mic on the recording software is horrible.
Hope you are doing well.

Not quite sure how far to stretch this but the song Help! reflected what John was feeling at the time about himself…..maybe Nowhere Man. But, there were so many songs the Beatles did that reflected things they were going through at the time.
There is a song by Poco called Living in the Band which went through which state in the US came from. Mike.

Hi Jacki;
I have short stubby fingers, too. What I have found is that a 12 string is a bit harder for me to play because of my finger situation. You might want to start with a 6 string. If you go electric, the Fender Strat has a relatively skinny fret board than other electrics so reaching for chords and notes are easier with fingers like ours…….but the strings are a little closer together so we would have to be more accurate with placing our fingers on the correct string. Mike.

Yeah, I have had a “Top Fan” designation and have lost it a couple of times over the years. It only reflects activity on the FaceBook page. Mike.

Hi Jung;
FWIW…….I have never been much of a fan of Taylor guitars. They are technically sound and and are professionally made…….but to me the guitars don’t have “personality”. I think Howard will remember I once called them kinda plain…….can’t remember the exact wording I used at the time…….I’m thinking “antiseptic” in order to reflect the blandness that I believe the guitar has. I prefer the Martin or Gibson acoustics because they have a distinct sound. Martins have that deeper mellow sound and Gibsons have more or a “jangly” sound. Please don’t take me wrong……….Taylors are good guitars but just not for me. Mike.

If I Fell is one of my favorite songs by the Beatles and MLT. Both do the song so well. George knocking over the amp????? You mean George was human?? Mike.

Hi Jung;
I’ve always thought that Nancy W. was crazy good. She is playing what looks like a 12 string Ovation there….Those are good guitars. I had a 12 string Ovation once upon a time, but I gave it away a while back. Someone else liked it more than I did. Again not a bad guitar, but I just like Taylors and Gibson acoustics more.
Anyway…….yes Nancy has long been regarded as a top guitarist regardless of gender. I don’t know why she is never included in the top 100 lists….she should be.

My favorite and it is not even done by Paul….https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq78BDwCujs
And it was also done by another couple of musicians……………https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXc-c4qTXmA

Also…….certain songs in the US that were only on after midnight on FM stations:
1) Lou Reed: Walk on the Wild Side.
2) Kinks: L-o-l-a

Hi Jung;
I had heard that “A Day In the Life” was banned because of the phrase “I’d love to turn you on”. BBC thought it was a drug reference and so it was not allowed on the radio.

I like those you mentioned, too. Also once upon a time (late 1970s and early 1980s) Vince Gill was with Pure Prairie League. He took Craig Fuller’s spot who went to Little Feat…..wow, that was another lifetime ago.
Also, Buffalo Springfield could not stay together for the same reason CSNY could not always stay together. With Stills and Young in the band they had two very good lead guitarists and two very good lyricists. And that rarely works. Mike.

To do some clean up on some of your other postings. Timothy B. was not an original. Believe it or not the original Poco bass player was Randy Meisner….who went to of all groups Eagles. And later TBS went to the Eagles. Seems like the Eagles just kept taking Poco’s bass players. But, with Randy Poco recorded PUTP and Randy left before it was released. Got into an argument with Richie Furay about not being able to sit in while mixing the album. So, he left and went to Ricky Nelson’s band and then to the Eagles. Poco re-recorded all of Rnady’s vocals on PUTP and then it was released.
I am also a huge Ronstadt fan. I believe she had one of the best voices of any time. Her and Karen Carpenter (though different) had voices that were truly musical instruments. Mike.

Yes, I am a big Buffalo Springfield fan. I think Stills was/is a musical genius. I also know Richie Furay some through his shows and on FB.
My favorite country rock bands are: Poco, PPL, NGDB, Marshall Tucker, Outlaws……also there was this little known group in England during the 1970s called Unicorn. Their songs are pretty good. Also, another musician in England and his former group is Frank Walsh. His former group is Old Country Union. It surprised me when I found out their were country rockers in England…….but their music sounds just as good as anyone. I also like Lonestar from the US…..and I’m likely forgetting some. Mike.

I’m sorry but that was David who had the Monkees. But, I agree with you about Mike Nesmith’s country or country/rock music. It is really good. The song “Some of Shelly’s Blues” is among my favorites. Mike.
