https://youtu.be/sx8iMzdzUdsMy very first Girlfriend gave me Jan and Dean’s “Ride the Wild Surf” album for Christmas. It was puppy love on steroids.
Now I mostly listen to Mona and Lisa. Sometimes I like to listen to them when they were young. Sometimes their Beatle covers. Their album “When We’re Together.” Of course “Orange” and the Cavern Club album. A lot of times a mixture.
My favorite songs are:
“Close to You”
“Count on Me”
“When We’re Together”
“Sweet Lorraine”
…pretty much all of their original songs, and I like most of their covers better than the original version. -

I agree, Michael. And yes R&B influenced Elvis and other artists. I am just saying who influenced me. Who influenced them is a different topic. ✌

I don’t know, Jung Roe. Can’t agree with Elvis and Chuck Berry being so far down the list. I guess we might find a great variety of opinions out there, though.
I grew up during the sixties and seventies, but all I know is who influenced me.
1. The Beatles
2. Elvis
3. Buddy Holly
4. Chuck Berry
5. The Beach Boys
Just to name a few. Lots of good music back then. Today there are some good songs here and there, but for consistently great music, there’s only the MonaLisa Twins.
