I love Playing for Change . I found them about the same time that I found MLT. And Stephen – “The Weight” is my favorite too – I did some digging and found it was apparently produced by Robbie’s son as a tribute to his dad on his 75th birthday.

Jung – There are three in BC: in Vancouver, Victoria, and Mission. Two of them have 10 bells, the other one, 8.

Jung- It’s the art/science of ringing of ringing church bells in a very strictly defined manner. It’s rhythmic, but not necessarily a defined melody. It’s mostly an English thing although there are groups (referred to as “bands”) in 19 different countries. Of the approximately 4000 ringable towers in the world, 3000 are in England (by contrast there are only 24 in Scotland). There are 50 or so here in the States, 3 of them are here in Houston.Wikipedia has more than you probably want to know:

Jacki – Taylor Swift Pop is sort of an acquired taste which is why I didn’t link the tune in my post. There are a few tracks on Folklore that are interesting. Most of the newer pop genre has too much autotune and too little actual performance.

Just so you don’t feel too lonely – I’ll ‘fess up that I have every one of her studio CDs

Taylor Swift has a pop tune called “Paper Rings”.

Interesting that bells and ringing came up as topics – my wife and I are both Change Ringers. And to that end, I’m suprised nobody has come up with Pete Seeger’s “The Bells of Rhymney”

7 operations or 7 scars? I have 3 orthoscopic ops with 3 scars on each shoulder and 3 on my left knee and they don’t seem to notice them as much. But, I’m going to the grave with as many worn out parts as I can afford.

Five over 64 last April. Was running down until heart valve surgery a year ago. Recovered now, going strong cycling 20 miles a day, and apparently “chicks dig scars” down the middle of your chest!

Jacki – Mine showed up today so you shouldn’t have to wait too much longer. BTW, it was postmarked on 23 June so things are going pretty slow.

No waiting needed – If you bought the CD you can download the album. (At least that’s what it says on the order page). Talk about having your cake and eating it too! And yes, the Sweet Lorraine acoustic version is better than the original! It’s my favorite song on the disc. (But I may be prejudiced since “Lorraine” is my wife’s name.)
