Great song, I always remember this version from Live Aid 1985 (getting old)

David, and others,
thanks for all the statistics, I find it interesting reading material. I also see that you try to explain the numbers e.g. why one months more views then an other months. My thoughts about this are
a) the simplest one is number of days in a months
b) M&L often release a new video on the last Sunday of a months, if that Sunday is also the last day of a month the impact on the release month is very limited
c) some months have more weekend days (I expect most people watch in the weekend)
d) the weather, if the weather is good a lot of people will go outdoors and will look less youtube videos (at least that is what I do).
e) what kind of video is released in the month, music, Q&A, Goose story; I think music videos attract more people then other videos and as we can see the last weeks Beatles videos attract even more people.
I am sure you all know you have lies, bigger lies and then statistics.

It seems I also have the MonaLisa Twins a lot on my mind and I am also talking a lot about them. The result is that I had “Mona Lisa” socks for my birthday (the Leonardo Mona Lisa).

For sure I have to add something Dutch, it something old 1968, one of my older susters boyfriends had this music. Maybe more a “real” blues band
Love all the great blues songs mentioned.

An other cover of a Dutch singer, number well known in Europe, not sure if it is well known in the rest of the world.
On youtube you can find more songs of her also in German and French.

Ilse de Lange is well known in the Netherlands and now also a bit more in Germany. I think she has a nice voice.

Thanks David,
Not sure if you post this below my comment others will see it, I think more people are interested.
I think I ”agree” with the list, I myself watch the new songs/video’s more often on YouTube and the others, older songs, I listen more via my MonaLisa streaming playlists; I was the no. 1 listener to the MonaLisa Twins on Deezer.
It is a pitty that not more people listen to “Make Show” and “Janitor Joe”, I think both are great songs, but people do not see it as a “music video”; no instruments, no microphones in the picture.

Thanks for all numbers, or is it figures, David. Funny to see what happens in one month. Is it possible for you to give e.g. at the end of the year the total number of views of (all) the original MTL songs. I sometimes look at the numbers, but no idea if the original with e.g. a total number of views of 450.000 in 9 years, if it is watched 50.000 each year or that due to more MLT songs on YouTube the older videos attract more viewers.

Jurgen, the Common Linnits have a 2nd album called II.
Ilse is in the Netherlands “more famous” as solo artist then as a member of the Common Linnits.
She has made several sole albums; sometimes with a band.
On one live album “Dear John”, are only songs of John Hiatt. On the album she starts the number “Have a little faith in me” 3 times because she is out of tune.

Tom, Ilse DeLange recorded her first (solo) album “World of hurt” in Nashville in 1998. Not a succes in the USA, but in the Netherlans she was/is successful. She formed with Waylon the Common Linnets to enter the Eurovisions Songfestival; 2nd place. They broke up but Ilse continued with others the Common Linnets. Sometimes she perfoms sole, sometimes with band.

Hi Jurgen I got to know Slagerij van Kampen due to an end of the year, Christnas, meeting for a company I worked for around 20 years ago, they did a live performance of 30-45 minutes. I loved the energy during the concert, so the next day I bought a CD. I have not seen them live since that day (maybe a few times for a few minutes on TV).

Jurgen, sorry no idea how to add the umlaut, Slagerij is a butcher. The name of the band is after a butcher wgich is mentioned in several comic books of Kuifje (Tintin). Not sure if it also a butcher in other lanquages.
