And just one more.
Marty Stuart- Crying, Waiting, Hoping (The Marty Stuart Show)
Now how cool would it be to see Lisa on guitar, Mona on drums and papa Rudi on bass doing a Holly number.

And from the year before – 1963.
The Beatles performing “Words Of Love” On Air – Live at the BBC Vol. 2

Now Lisa, it is so sad that we haven’t heard a Buddy Holly cover from you. Especially since he had such an influence on bands like the Beatles. Why they were even inspired to name themselves after his band, the Crickets.
I know you and Mona really want to do it and I’m sure you could nail it, just the three of you, or even just you and Mona in a Duo Session with you on guitar and Mona on that Cajon thing of hers, you know, that box thing you like to sit on!
This is another Holly song I think you are well suited to.
From the Beatles For Sale album of 1964

Well I’m with Dale on this one Lisa. The Beatles do a great cover of Holly’s “Words of Love” on their “Beatles For Sale” album with beautiful harmonies well suited to you and your baby sister. They also do a nice cover of his “Crying, Waiting, Hoping” on their “Live At The BBC” album.
An excellent live version is this one from Marshall Crenshaw in the La Bamba movie.

Just how cool is this?

Okay guys, I’m a bit slow but with you now. Great song and lyrics there! As for being 21, for many young men in my country, it took the Vietnam war and conscription at the age of 20, although I had an early start at the age of 18 in strangely enough. the central north of the deep north of Australia’s most conservative state. My eyes and mind were opened during my military corps training when I was bundled off to our southern state where I got to mix with Australians from every state for the first time. Interesting times indeed!
I imagine it would have been similar (the culture shock), to our baby Mona and Lisa visiting California for the first time and then Adelaide a year later.

Dylan Thomas was a Welsh poet and writer. Not sure if you were being sarcastic or just cryptic!
-
Yes, that would be awesome Lynn. However, somehow I don’t think Rudi would want to see Rudi in Lederhosen, unless it was supporting a MLT video of one of their songs perhaps!

Well I have no doubt you’ll be hearing from another Vancouverian (if that’s an actual word, or should it be Vancouverite?), very soon.

Now Jacki, you were quite right to be scared of the House of the Rising Sun. It was certainly no place for a little girl. I’ve sure been ruined by life on occasions, but not in places like that! However, our 13 year old Lisa didn’t seem to be scared when she sang it with so much passion in their first concert. I wonder if she knew what it was all about!
“There is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun And it’s been the ruin of many a poor boy And God I know I’m one”
“Oh, mother, tell your children Not to do what I have done Spend your lives in sin and misery In the House of the Rising Sun”
In 1941, Woody Guthrie recorded a version and In late 1961, Bob Dylan recorded the song for his debut album, released in March 1962.
According to John Steel, Bob Dylan told him that when he first heard The Animals’ version on his car radio, he stopped to listen, “jumped out of his car” and “banged on the bonnet”, inspiring him to go electric. Dave Van Ronk said that The Animals’ version—like Dylan’s version before it—was based on his arrangement of the song. -
Some great horse photos there Jung. A truly majestic animal. You’re obviously a fan with those Mustangs of yours!

That ones way too cryptic for me Mike.
