Hi Tim. Are you picking another fight! I for one don’t think this is the appropriate site for movie reviews, unless it is for when MLT produce their ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ and hope it doesn’t end up being a plea for ‘Help’.
I haven’t been to the movies for ages, partly owing to much bigger and better TV screens and the plethora of streaming services like ‘Netflix’, ‘Stan’ and others, and more coming on board all the time. Much easier to stay at home and watch movies in the comfort of your own home.
The reviews for ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ have been quite good, especially for the lead role as you indicate, although one did suggest that Freddie’s overbite was slightly over accentuated. I agree with what you have written here and will endeavour to make an effort to go and see it.
As I said, not really the place for a movie review but I think you just get away with it with this one. Nicely done Tim!

Hi Jota. Welcome to the MLT Club. I have been a member since the club started. You will enjoy your time here. Lots to see, hear and learn.

I’m not sure how well the Search function is working so I’ve put a request into “Support & Suggestions”.
Following is the web link that might be helpful to this current discussion.

Thanks MLT Team. Things have been running well from my end and I’m enjoying being a member. You’ve done a fantastic job commencing and maintaining this site.

Hi Max, Robert and Claude. There has already been much debate on this topic since the Club first opened. You can use the Search option to explore the history. This way we are not just regurgitating or rehashing what has already been discussed.
As Mona and Lisa originally stated, one of the reasons they set up the club was so that all those same or similar questions they received by email could be addressed more economically in a web site like this. For example, you could try the topic: “Indigo Girls vs. MonaLisa Twins”.
The Club has already developed quite a considerable database of shared information.

Mike, I just reviewed my earlier post and I think I was several years out with my nine year old suggestion. Nine was the age Lisa was when she first commenced learning guitar on a bass they borrowed from a relative. I believe the first public performance of ‘Alone’ was at an open mic opportunity at a restaurant in California on their first holiday visit when she would have been twelve years old. I believe they next performed it at their MLT and band concert in Vienna in July 2007.
Anyway, we’ll know more when Lisa finally digs it out of the archives for us. I don’t think Mona and Lisa realise just how many of their fans are interested or why!

And gentlewoman for ‘Jacki’ Greg!

Mike, you forgot ‘groovy’ for Jung’s grandson. I wouldn’t be surprised if he already has him using it!

Hi Tim and Jung. John Lennon was renouned for his acerbic wit at times but I never thought he’d make the kind of remark about Ringo attributed to him. Fortunately, ‘urban myths’ like this can reasonably easily be debunked these days. It hasn’t always been the case, but we can thank the www for this now. Similarly, it would have been near impossible for MLT to pursue their career the way they are now 20 years ago.
Imagine living in Medieval times, or worse still, the Dark Ages where these ‘urban myths’ were considered to be truths and could get you hung, or worse!

It would be great to see an established artist record a MLT original and I don’t see why this couldn’t be possible in the future. It would also help to promote them and their music and if it was a hit, would also be financially rewarding for them.
There were many young writers/composers in the sixties who wrote hits for other artists. For example, both Neil Diamond and Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart wrote many hits for the Monkees before beginning performing careers of their own. Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart both had two big hit singles in the late sixties and Neil Diamond went on to a very successful solo career.
Gerry Goffin and Carol King also wrote many hit songs for other artists before Carol King commenced her successful solo career. In Australia we too had successful writers/composers who wrote for other artists. There was the Chinn/Chapman team who had many hit singles for other artists and also Vanda/Young, who besides having their own successful band (The EasyBeats (‘Friday on my Mind’), also wrote hits for other artists.
Maybe Mona and Lisa should see if they can get Michaela to shop some of their songs to other artists!

Your jumping the gun slightly Jung. I think Claude’s intention was to discuss one song per week.
Personally I don’t think there is any filler on either of the Twins original albums. They are all memorable in their own way!

Nice work again Tim. Not having the luxury of having copies of the Beatles new White Album remixes (how do you manage this!), I can’t comment. As for the Ringo not being the best drummer in the Beatles, the way I heard it was that one of those useless 60s music journalists asked Paul (not John), if he thought Ringo was the best drummer in the world and Paul replied “the best drummer in the world? He’s not even the best drummer in the Beatles!” There seemed to be some credence to this as during the recording sessions for the White Album, Ringo left the Beatles as he felt he wasn’t appreciated. He went on holidays in Sardinia and Paul played the drums on ‘Back in the USSR’ and ‘Dear Prudence’.
But they soon realized they needed Starr, and sent him a telegram asking him to return, saying that they thought he was the best rock n’ roll drummer in the world and that they loved him. While on holidays in Sardinia on Peter Sellers yacht, Ringo wrote his second song with the Beatles, ‘Octopus’s Garden’, which appeared on the Abbey Road album.
Who really said Ringo wasn’t even the best drummer in the Beatles?
Never said by John Lennon. Jasper Carrott’s office claimed it as 1983 gag; proof now it was said earlier, in BBC comedy Radio Active in Oct 1981. File here. Voice by Philip Pope. Written by Geoffrey Perkins. Not by John Lennon. Yes, there is audio available of the Radio Active recording.

Welcome to the club Greg. And a great club it is too.

Nice one Jung. Although MLT are only a fairly recent discovery for me, I did some rapid research, tracking their musical life narrative from their first public concert in Vienna (and earlier via their many YouTube videos). I very quickly came to the conclusion that they weren’t your typical wannabe pop stars and that they had a true passion for sixties style music and wanted to share this passion with everyone. This also led to them recording their own compositions to complement their covers.
I have never doubted that they had a particular vision in mind from the start and supported by their father and step mother have fortunately been able to follow that vision without wavering. Hopefully, with the financial support of their many fans across the world they will be able to remain true to their creative instincts, free from the excesses and exploitation of the commercial music industry.
