Just lovely again Jacki. A couple of your lines have inspired in me a subject for a new topic. Too late tonite to get my head around it so it will have to wait until tomorrow.  Do you have a poetry factory at home?

Just love Kiera Knightly. Have since I first saw her in ‘Bend it Like Beckam’, one I can recommend for Saba. I’ll have to check out “Begin Again”.

  • Good question Jacki. As the twins are still in bed, or more likely, haven’t gone to bed yet, I’ll give this one a shot. It depends on the type of concert so we’d need several. For a rock concert, I’d start with Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly then move into the the Beatles and Stones. I’d also like to see the Doors and Grateful Dead there somewhere.

For my next concert I’d have the Hollies, Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Lovin’ Spoonful, Herman’s Hermits, the Tremoloes and Srsrchers.

Another concert would include the likes of the Who, the Kinks, Manfred Mann, the Small Faces and the Yardbirds with the Jeff Beck lineup including either Eric Clapton or Jimmy Page.

Well that’s a start at least. Lots of other options but I better leave something for the MLT or Jacki is going to be very cross with me!

    Ciao

Thanks Mike. They are an eminently sensible  pair. The end result is the goal then.  If that’s the case,  I don’t think we’re going to have the squabbles we eventually had between John, Paul and George over what was selected for each album and who sang what.

All the better for us as we are the ones who benefit most from their collaboration. When I say collaboration, we must not forget the awesome Papa Rudi!

    Good question Steve.

I’d be okay with that idea if we could be sure that members wouldn’t release early to the public, as I believe happened with the ‘I’ll Follow the Sun’ video.

That spoils all the excitement and build up for public releases for MLT!

`Yes Steve, you are correct. Mona is sitting on the floor with her back to the wall, doesn’t seem to be a mirrored image. They’re singing “Help”. Looks like the Cavern Club.

Maybe she was just showing off! Haha!

You have my sympathy when playing on stage Lisa, Mona does tend to move around a lot sometimes. Maybe you need a right arm guard! Must be awkward at places like the Cavern Club.

    Hi Steve

I asked a similar question but didn’t receive a response. Maybe because it was in someone else’s topic and got missed or because they were saving it for a future Q&A. Or maybe they just want to keep some mystery there and keep us wondering!

The Topic was: Which 5 of your own song lyrics are FAVES !?

“Would it be asking too much if you could let us know who is the originator of each of your songs on both albums? For instance, was ‘One More Time’ a Lisa idea and ‘Won’t You Listen Now’ Mona’s?”

Wow Mona! Two great selections there. I have no doubt Saba would enjoy, if she has not already seen, “Across The Universe”, as any fan of Beatles music would and  quite possibly “Searching For Sugar man” also. Although not mentioned in the documentary, Rodriguez was very popular in Australia in the 1970s and toured here in 1979 and 1981. He was very ‘in’ with my crowd at uni during the 70s. Similarly to you, the likes of ‘Star Wars’ doesn’t interest me either.

Although I’m not necessarily into fantasy (well I have read the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings I guess), “the Mists of Avalon” could certainly interest me. I have just finished reading a book by a young historian by the name of Catherine Nixey, titled “The Darkening Age – The Christian Destruction of the Classical World”. It covers the time from the death of Constantine after which Christianity eventually became the only Roman religion, by decree.

Hence the persecution of Pagans by Christians throughout the Empire, including Arthurian times in Britain. Although not your usual genre Mona, I’m sure you’d find it a fascinating read, and quite possibly Saba too.

An author I can recommend is Tariq Ali. He writes novels that are fiction, but set in true historical settings. As well as entertaining me, he has also educated me about a culture I was unfamiliar with. One suggestion of his is “A Sultan in Palermo”.

By the way Mona, I believe “The Mists of Avalon” was adapted for television in a miniseries. Did you see it?

    Hi Mike.

‘someone above said that George wasn’t known for his technical chops.’

Now that would have been Tim, being his usual mischievous self. Don’t worry, you’ll get used to him like the rest of us have. Tim likes to challenge us from time to time. I enjoy the cut and thrust with him and he does get much dialogue happening!

We need to find a way to get more supporters on that magical mystery tour bus with us so that costs can be contained and shared more evenly by the viewing public who are currently getting a free ride. I for one will be using the Xmas period to introduce new supporters to the awesome MLT experience.

Another one of those lovely Xmas videos from the Twins would help the selling job! I think they were 15 when they produced the first one from what looked like home – cute as ever! It’s been fascinating to follow their development every Xmas since.

The Club seems to be coming along quite well and with the quality and diversity of supporters already on board, I’m sure things will keep improving and the money will start rolling in to the Wagners within a month. A nice Xmas present for them hopefully!

    Stay Healthy and Groovy

Hi Tim. It wouldn’t surprise you if I said I had similar thoughts and of course it has always been an option for supporters to make donations.

While I would also encourage anyone who can, to donate more on a regular basis, I think it is still early days and the Club is building momentum quite rapidly. I believe encouraging more people to join the club is the best way to go at the moment as placing expectations on people who may not be in a position to give more may feel their membership is devalued. Many members are musicians and some are probably full-time or working in other artistic endeavours and we all know how hard it is for the average person to make a living in the entertainment industry.

The Wagners’ never cease to amaze me how well they have steadily built their family business and I am confident they have done the maths and worked out just what they believe is the best balance for both them and their supporters at the moment. If that situation changes, I’m sure they’ll come up with a more suitable option to put to us at the time.  Don’t forget your reminder about the law of diminishing returns Tim.

To be honest, I’m starting to question the value of my Spotify account as I am using it less and less. The only issue I have cancelling it is losing the huge catalogue of favourite music I have downloaded, and as good as MLT are, they’re never going to find the time to cover all the old sixties and seventies songs I have in my collection.

My Spotify account is $15 per month. If the MLT database of music continues to grow, I’d certainly consider adding this subscription amount to my MLT Club Membership. I’d also like to think that someone can eventually come up with a way MLT can draw some income from their many YouTube video views, which is now in the millions.

Anyway, I’m sure the Wagners are working hard on a report right now for us on just how successful their Club launch has been. I’m looking forward to that, along with that long overdue Q&A 3.

Actually, I do have a suggestion on how MLT could radically improve their productivity, but that will be another topic.

  • Hi Marcio, welcome to the club. Where are you from? Do you have a favourite MLT Cover? Original?

  • Hi Joe

I asked a similar question a while ago. and to a large extent yours has already been addressed by Mona. If you search the topic: 2007 Concert you will find Mona’s response.

Also, I recommend if you haven’t already, share your details on the ‘Introduce Yourself’ page and MLT will be more likely to know you are around and respond!
