Yes, I know. I’m a Manfred Mann nut! I really love this song. Their last hit single and features Mike D’Abo on lead vocals. He replaced Paul Jones after Paul left the band to go solo in July 1966.

Mick Jagger looks after himself and has a strict exercise regime, especially when touring, unlike Keith. I don’t know how Keith Richards does it with his lifestyle.

The Topic is ‘Petrolheads’ and I’d like it changed to ‘Petrolheads Anonymous’. Thank you for your prompt response, Michaela.

And I respect your decision not to comment Jacki. I also chose not to comment (apart from advising that it may be a little controversial), out of respect for the MLT Club guidelines. Those guidelines don’t prevent members from sharing songs.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a photo of my first motorcycle. It was a 1964 Suzuki 250 “Hustler” I purchased in 1970. I didn’t have it long as I soon upgraded to a 1964 VW Beetle in 1971. LOL!
As it was my first personal means of transport, I loved my Suzuki. The bike in the photo is similar to mine, which was black. These bikes were two strokes and you had to add oil when refueling. This was in the days before emissions pollution controls became an issue and ended the days of two strokes.

Manfred Mann’s cover was a Britishised version of Dylan’s song and left out the Spanish American and civil wars, substituted free west for “midwest” and left out the verse on the Russians.
Sorry guys, this video comes with a warning – Bob himself is singing, and live!! LOL!
Bob Dylan- BBC Tonight Show – With God on Our Side (1964). This shows a very young Bob Dylan and also seems to cut the performance short.

This may be a little controversial for an MLT Club as it includes both religion and politics. A bit difficult not to with protest songs I guess.
With God on Our Side by Bob Dylan – from, ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’ album, 1963
First release by Joan Baez (November 1963)

Interesting Jung. I can understand why “A Day In the Life” rates so high with so many people. However, once again, like with MLT songs, my opinion can change from day to day, depending on my mood and whatever is going on in the world at any particular time. Something as simple as “A Hard Day’s Night” can rate highly for me simply because I can still remember where I first heard it and can still picture the newspaper advertising in the street with the name headlined, way back in 1964.
However, since my retirement and now that I am enjoying a more carefree lifestyle, the theme of this song isn’t as relevant anymore. For some reason “No Reply” has always been a favourite. Maybe because of fond recollections of when I first heard it and of when I first shared the joy of Beatles’ music with others.
As for the MLT, as I have stated above re the Beatles, my opinion can change from day to day, but two consistent raters are “Still A Friend Of Mine” and “Count On Me”. Too many favourites to choose from really!

Just an afterthought Jacki. Maybe I’m nothing more than a ‘strong wind’ bag, ‘blowin’ in the wind’!

Yes, you certainly are a young whippersnapper when compared to us old farts here Jacki. I certainly wasn’t laughing at you, but with you perhaps. My eyesight is failing me too and my glasses always seem foggy. I’m also hearing impaired and use hearing aids. Fortunately I can dispense with them when listening to music through my headphones or AirPods.
I know Neil Young isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, just like Dylan’s voice isn’t. Nothing wrong with that. Fortunately we all love Mona’s and Lisa’s voices and that’s what really counts. I’m not necessarily a Rod Stewart fan but I like what he did with “Forever Young”.

Nice one Jacki. Thanks for sharing. Have you been inside? For some reason, I don’t imagine you as being a beer drinker, but wine or cider perhaps?
