“Baby, You’re a Rich Man” was released as the B-side of The Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love” single in July 1967. It originated from an unfinished song by John Lennon, titled “One of the Beautiful People”, to which Paul McCartney added a chorus.

On this day, The Quarry Men made what would become known as The Beatles’ first recording. In addition to John, Paul and George, the band still included Colin Hanton on drums and new member John “Duff” Lowe on piano.“Crying, Waiting, Hoping”
The Beatles recorded the song live on July 16, 1963 for the Pop Go The Beatles radio show. The BBC recording features George Harrison on lead vocal and also features Harrison replicating studio guitarist Donald Arnone’s instrumental bridge, note for note.
“Words Of Love”
“Beatles For Sale” album, released on December 4th, 1964. Both the second and third verses are vocal with double-tracked harmonies providing a rich distinctive tone. Like the original.
