To be fair, it’s primarily because I was raised in a house whom the liking/appreciation for classical music was… Non-existant… Rather country, rock n roll, southern rock, gospel, bluegrass, blues and jazz, disco-ish stuff were our music tastes and what I was exposed /grew up enjoying… Also, I don’t really have the patience and attention span to sit and appreciate classical stuff…. I like what I grew up with… Although I have always liked the classical stuff Schroeder does in Snoopy TV specials/comic strips… Lol.
For me, Classical Music is a musical taste acquirement… You either like it from get go, or not or you may grow to like it somewhat…. That’s my opinion.

Hi Skip, Thankyou for sharing link, my new thing I learned for today, had no idea about this story either, but quite interesting. I enjoyed watching/learning!

YippeeYay… Fab… Woohoo… It’s the most nice Thursday night of all…. The Xmas CD Arrived and I listen with pride, ear to ear, yes At long last Canada Post finally delivered my CD here to my mailbox…. Today is Friday but I had to wait today to share the MLTBuzzGroovyiment of Xmas Joy… Thankyou, Cranking in my earphones…. Sing along sincere.. Yes… It’s the best Xmas Album quite clear?

Yes, I agree… The enchanting kind of beautiful hauntingly echoing of their harmonies once again eminates incredibly effective on this song, the simplicity of the sound with more vocals then instrumentation emphasis just perfectly intertwines…

I agree with all the sentiments being said in this particular thread…. It’s got that timeless magic… It reminds me of The old Irish Rovers Christmas Album from away back when (Album cover had their faces on Xmas tree ball decorations), of some of their more traditional ballad type songs from that album, although “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer” still holds dear to my Irish Scot – Canadian heart of Fave Xmas Songs of mine. Getting back to why I love this newly cemented Xmas Song Fave of mine… It embodies that timeless magic, positive for all ages to embrace, it soothes, calms, brings smiles and laughter to one’s face upon hearing and completely sing- a – long-able… (Whether one can sing good, half decent, shabby,… Lol) The simple fact is… It Uplifts and could listen to it all year round… I could see this song as a therapeutic tool to help elderly in nursing homes with dementia /alzheimers as a Calming effect, those in depression, etc. It does wonders for Spirit/Soul, truly?

It truly is hauntingly beautiful enchanting… The piano is exquisite and just gives it the robust vibe, A new all time Fave Xmas Classic to be enjoyed by all, ageless…. Kudos on this, I just love singing along to it?

Well Paul, not only American but Canadian as well, I too hadn’t heard of or was not familiar with the song and Google it too… And we’re not alone, there are others too whom aren’t familiar /not heard before of this song either… maybe/perhaps it’s a generational thing… Lol…Not sure… Lol… Anyone over 40 seems to be not familiar/know of it before now Lol… I was a a teenager in the 80s but don’t recall this movie or if I had seen it, I don’t remember… But I will agree in that I love MLT’s version best.!!

Update:… Figured it out, all good now, Thanks Jung and Thomas for your helpful suggestions… It was a case of unzipped I think… What matters is that I can enjoy the songs in my phone’s Own Music App and in the Fave Xmas Songs Playlist I created?

Member04/11/2019 at 00:33 in reply to: Which is better, the Rolling Stones or the Beatles, and why?For me personally, though I do like music by both, I ‘m leaning towards Beatles direction for various reasons whereas the Stones.. I’ m not sure if it’s their appeal, their style of music or what exactly but it clearly never has had the immediate impact as I do with The Beatles…. Having 2 older brothers with whom both have different music tastes, but one brother enjoys Stones/Beatles and he and I are similar in our music tastes… Anyways, a few of the reasons for my leaning towards Beatles are of course their appeal… Being female, I dug their looks better?… Musically, their lyrics, instrumentation, appeal for me caught my attention moreso, kind of more relatable for me to understand/grasp/relate to…. I can’t fully equate to explaining the exact why they do in depth but to me, if I love/like something from getgo and it emotionally moves me, I can dance and sing along to it, whatever concept it has conveyed for me to pay attention to, it’s worth it and resonates a lifetime for me. IMHO of course!

Lol… Your reply “I’m surprised, yet another Canadian and more schnitzel”.. Etc… That was funny, well I found it funny and that I was also surprised by the fact that you were surprised about me being Canadian.. (My Intro is on this forum area somewheres, as it’s been ages since I had posted it at the time) you just got to look for it, I had mentioned I’m from Canada…) as for me speaking French, the answer is no and I only understand the extreme basics and can read a bit of French, but that’s the extent of my French… Lol…. Now I will say that Quebec French differs from the proper “Parisienne France French”, Quebec French is more slang lije and folks speak half French/English and whatever other languages all in combo…
As for my reccomend actions of Canada to visit, can’t say much as I don’t travel much, and only been to Montreal in Quebec, Hull/Gatineau Quebec area across from The Ottawa River, Niagara Falls – Canadian side, Kingston, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, Toronto and a few other places when I used to go on Sunday drives with my late parents back in the day, I have relatives in Toronto area,…This pretty much has been my Canadian travels in my 50 yrs… Lol… The only places outside Canada I’ve been to, Watertown NY Areas: Ogdensberg NY, Oswego NY, Potsdam, NY & surrounding area of Potsdam NY…. Lol… But I would say that each of the provinces in Canada, have awesome things to discover/visit.

Hi again Jurgen… Like Jung, I live in Canada too, just on the opposite coast side sort of… … In Ottawa…. And I’m sure schnitzel is offered here, There used to be a German restaurant out in my area but it either closed down or relocated elsewheres…. Lol… So perhaps, one day, you could do a cross Canada visit and say Hi to both Jung and myself on your Canadian travels… Lol

Hi Jung… I don’t have a computer or home internet… I mostly rely/ use my Android phone or if I need to but rarely use, my android tablet I have as backup and use either phone data when at home or Wi-Fi when out n about away from home…. Perhapss the files in downloaded are still “Zipped”, as you said…. I know I was able to download and add/create a playlist on my phone’s own Music App (not Google Play Music App) for BAM Vols 2&3 but can’t now for the Xmas MLT CD download Link I had got in email on Halloween…. I was able to download into “My Files” area on my phone but it it’s under Archived?!… As I said, I’m not all that tech-savvy smart, somewhat am just not full blown savvy….
