Ah Yes …. The Paperboys ….lol….if my ancient memory serves me correctly… They opened up for Alan Frew (lead singer for Glass Tiger ) when Alan came to Ottawa either for his first or second dolo album for a solo gig at a downtown gig bar in Byward Market that no longer exists now ….. I was at that show….whichever for his 1st or 2 nd solo album, recall taking a photo outside of venue of sign with Alan’s name and The Paperboys ….

Ah….good ol Johnny Horton stuff ….I grew up listening to his stuff….I enjoy it my parents , being both country music fans mostly, well my late Dad & also into Blue Grass and was, while my late Mom had a more varied musical taste , loved Elvis, Connie Francis, old school country (Patsy Cline, etc ), Big Band stuff , whatever she enjoyed singing and dancing too , is what she enjoyed, I’ve truly inherited that musical tastes trait from her…lol… but the one and only dong they both jointly enjoyed and publicly dance to , and was also Dad’s funeral song we chose ….Tom Jones ‘ version of ” Green Green Grass of Home “

To me….it’s kind of a stuxpid holiday…no need to close most malls, etc, have garbage delays…..besides…not all have families so from my perspective, it’s kind of a stupid holiday… Xmas/New Years/Canada Day are understandable, but as for Family Day…ummm no… useless in my opinion…
But.. St Paddy’s Day should be considered a holiday.. The Leprechauns/Leprechaunesses– need to be honored full fledged ( ahem, cough, cough 😉🙃💚☘️🍀🇨🇦🇮🇪 )….lol

Hi…Funny how you mentioned this as I’m a Patsy Cline fan and have been hoping as well , that perhaps MLT could try tackling a Patsy song, their harmonies would work tremendously , I think…you beat me to the punch for suggesting this idea ….we’re on the same thinking path…I’ve always thought they could do a Patsy Cline song , as they do great slow type ballad songs …

How they both over my ongoing 15 yrs of since discovering them, renewed my creative inspiration to catapult into poetry /painting/sketching-drawing again , even the courage to tackle to sing at a few open mic jams, and karaoke venturing…. how they can instantaneously elevate/eminate/uplift/accentuate, etc Positivity ….. 💜🤘🏻💎😊

Well, that experience sucked, sorry you had you endure such crap… I had heard on news about Testing at the time if you were travelling…. to Canada or vice versa …. talk about misleading, etc…. I wonder what other Canadian cities , Ottawa included, has setup in terms of Covid testing Kits/procedures when it comes to travelling …..that’s a shame that the whole experience cost you to miss out on your theatre show/hotel …. I don’t travel hardly…daytrips to Montreal/Kingston is about as far as I’ll go…not been to USA in over 30-40 yrs, never been elsewhere beyond USA for outside Canada in travels.
