Wow….. That’s quite the parody but I wouldn’t get irate over it like your Co worker or whomever it was had… It can be disturbing as it’s not a typical parody as in its usual comedic tone but yet I can see the slight humour in it too…. So… I’m not offended by it but I can see where others might/wouldand you’re correct in being cautious where/with whom you share this as a result from your experience…. In my opinion… I think the person perhaps overreacted just a tad….but as being said…..Everyone reacts differently to things though the original intent was of no harm but unfortunately didn’t/don’t always get perceived as such…. Then again… I have a sense of humour and at times that can be warped… Thankyou for sharing your parody lyrics.

He suffered a major stroke a few months after Mom’s death on 1995. He had his own health issues that complicated matters for him… Type 2 diabetic… Was a smoker at one time then quit then sneaking around smoking again years later on trying to hide the fact but we knew it…. Had double-triple bypass heat surgery and had seizures/ministrokes after major stroke over the years until his death. Mom lived her last 10 years in hell in a longterm care hospital after her major stroke following surgery to unblock arteries left her useless… Almost comalike but asomewhat functional in some aspects though quite limited…. She could say swear words and Yes and No… Otherwise her speech all muddled up… Couldn’t do anything for herself… That part of brain severely damaged so no physio could be done for her to recover and she knew who we were by voice but not sure if she could see or was blind… She could however uncanningly and clearly hum along to a song on the radio/TV perfectly in tune/pitch or during their Xmas parties… The piano player or singer started singing Xmas songs then Mom would chime in with humming along… Ahhh… Yes… This song certainly means so much for many and am glad MLT created and recorded it for all… It touches hearts…

Rainbow Bridge has welcomed yer wee poochie… My condolences… I had to put my beloved Corky lad down in 2000 – 2001 ish at 16… He was old and had a lot issues… He was a terruer-spoodle mix… This hit me hard as being his FurMom… I picked him out of litter where we had got him from… Eyes weren’t even open yet at the time… Later in life he became moreso Dad’s companion more so because he sensed Dad’s illness and felt he needed to be with Dad more. The previousvdogscI grew up with died from injuries sustained from being hit by car–chasing a groundhog…. The other 2 dogs before that one from car incident had died naturally at our house of old age and was buried on our property. The dog with fatal injuries from car hit… Died on way to animal hospital or shortly after arrival there… It’s no easy thing to get over… Never completely do… But do cherish the memories in photos… Videos… In your heart…

Yes…. How something can just take off with a life of it’s own…. Now I’m intrigued and interested in hearing the lyrics of the parodies…. It’s kind of a shame how people’s perceptions of things can go from one extreme to the other though the initial intent was for the good/funny but instead went awry…. Re: “If I Had A Brain” parody…
I’ve been down that misintrepretion /perception road from both ends… And I see how one word or two can go wonky in how it’s perceived on its context from someone else ‘s eyes/mind when in fact how they thought of it as was not the case at all…. I admit that sometimes how I think of something in my mind doesn’ tcalways correlate to paper /written firm and thus can cause havoc… Sometimes I’m better at explaining face to face or verbally rather than written…. I’m a visual learner person so I intend to go into detail and kind of be descriptive as as I go along…

Playing Music does run in my family… My late Mom should of been a professional singer… She had a voice… She would sing around house (secretly I think she might of but my grandparents probably thought it foolish so…. Out the window went her dream)
Even after her massive stroke… Her uncanny ability to hum along beautifully to what she heard on TV… Radio… One of the nurses or health care aides that would come into her room to change her “undergarments” or reposition her in bed as right side was paralyzed.. Even at Xmas party for patients… Mom be first one humming out the Xmas songs… When all the while her speech permanently affected by stroke say the odd word sweari or yes or no one’s. My older siblings and I discovered Dad had won singing competitions as a kid at school… Our aunt confirmed this… We discovered the certificates he had hidden away in his stuff as we were packing/sorting after we had sold the house while he was in nursing home. My one older sibling dabbles and jams on guitar blues style… Self taught….
Our aunt with whom confirmed Dad’s singing talent as a kid… She’s an organist/pianist for her church… So I guess my love for music comes by honestly…. Just wish I was a tad more hand and eye coordinated (always a struggle for me all my life) and could grasp reading music (I just can’t grasp that concept)…. I’ll just stick to singing and tinkering around on my stuff…
Roger… Yes… I have tried sort of to tinker around on my harmonica to MLT songs where blues harp is present… That is have song playing while I try to play my harmonica along with song in the certain spots!!!! I know I’m not great but hey… I enjoy trying and doing my own thing!!!!

Okdokey… Here’s my plethora of music instruments of sorts…
Out of all… The tambourine and the keyboard and the 2 wooden instrument things are what I tend to tinker around on most…. Especially the tambourine… Like I’ve stated… Though I ‘m quite music note illiterate… Prefer to hear though not knowing which key I’ m at… And I do enjoy singing (not great at that either but doable… No tomatoes pelted at me thus far),I do seem to have a natural sensing of rhythm and would most likely learn to play something by ear and watching-visual learning…. That is my extent of my musical education thus far…

Neither can I… I just found it interesting that you mentioned an Ottawa radio station CFRA in your post…
-
Hi Roger… glad you liked the poem, and I enjoyed your wee poetic ditty too. Thankyou!
-
Wow… Had no idea… Sounds like music director at CFRA back in the day at that time… Was anti-Beatles and/or 60s similar type songs in general….. We need to have good ol decent radio stns again that play all genres of real music… Not programmed stuff aimed at a specific age demographic….. This boggles my mind…. Wow!!!!
-
Really..?!… CFRA banned that.?!..Wow..I don’t think I’ve recalled any of our radio stns… CFRA included to ban a song that I’m aware of… Well something I learned of my stomping grounds I was not aware of before now… … Well I was kid back at that time… CFRA is no longer a music station… It’s an all news station now and interesting how you happened to mention Ottawa in your post?!… Lol…

“Guitar Roger”
As he has come newly onto this scene
It’s obvious of his music keen
From his photos he’s shared and we’ve seen
Right at home he has indeed become
His postings interesting
And enjoys taking part in the fun
Thought I’d tackle a wee creative poetic ditty
Quite the nostalger
Especially for his instruments of sorts
In particular
Hence the title I’ve conjured this by
“Guitar Roger”…

Ooohhh… This is interesting… I love the sound of steel guitars… The only woman I’ve seen play one is country singer Barbara Mandell…..

I had also knew of another gal named Lorraine from a long time ago… We lost touch.

Lol… I was a kid in the 70s… Teen yrs were the 80s…etc so I think I probably had my first albums late 70s…only 2 albums that standout of mine that were either given to me as bday/Xmas gifts or bought for me because I didn’t have the money for them were: SYLVIA: Nobody album and the Grease movie soundtrack…. I bought more 45s and albums/cassette tapes in my teen years… Then moved onto CDs…. I do have MLT’s Orange in vinyl…. The only 2 45’s that whose category would be considered off the wall for me that I have… “You Light Up My Life-Debby Boone” (I guess I liked that song as a kid – lol) and “Willy’s Ol Teller Pickup Truck”…. How or why I have that one… I can’t recall… Maybe won it as a prize at a local fair onetime as a kid for playing one of those fair midway games…. The song sounded as crazy as the title as you can imagine. But to be fair… My parents and older siblings had a variety but sort of distinctive music genres of music tastes so the old 8 tracks… 45s…albums and cassette tapes were varied and therefore I was exposed to different things and thus shaped my own music flavorings of choice (In my opinion, my family have good mudic tastes)
