Hi again Jurgen…..
Well, the Celtic population is vast in Canada, Ottawa area where I’m at, is high in Celtic population as Irish/Scottish were amongst the first to come settle in the area, and in Quebec & Maritimes ( East Coast) as well, the Celtic population is high thus alot of Irish-Celtic music performed in culture, family… …. Also in my area, there are many other cultural ethnicity of Italian, Lebanese , Asian , etc …. Many different Festivals occur to showcase tge cultural diversity , but Covid had slowed down the festivals , postponing/cancelling …. Paul Anka , the crooner was born in Ottawa …etc

Ah, Christopher…. you made me go down down memory music lane to my teen yrs in the 80s with Luba, and Jann Arden & I do like some Serena Ryder, all good Canadian stock of musicians ….,Luba was on MuchMusic, Good Rockin Tonight, Video Hits back in the day…. I’m a Glass Tiger fan for since 1986ish, met them in 1988-89, known them personally since I’ve met them….lol…. Yepoers Canada has some top notch quality music from past to present, moreso the past , is the stuff I like with odd few newer bands I actually will listen to music of in today’s music landscape … I like Le Meow band (Gin Bourgeois) , ( local band from Ottawa, Lucas Hangman from Ottawa, One 2 One were from Ottawa back in the 80s as were the band 8 Seconds too, )

Well, I do know that I can do up a mean Air Guitar/Drum/Fiddle /Piano or any other musical instrument far better than I could play them in reality, if I could at all … I did , back in the fall, when it was okay to have places reopen to do open mic jams , I had my guitar purse, , with nudging from my friend for fun, I got up at the last song the open mic house jam during the last song they were doing and let er loose alongside guitarist, in fact , I was so into it, enjoying alongside the guitarist o into it was I that , I actually tripped..lol..,everyone thought it was on purpose, no it was not , but I just got right back up off floor and continued on…lol…
I’m more inclined and have actually took a stab at singing at a few Karaoke nights and open mic jams …. but you never know, perhaps, The Guitar Purse may make another Air Guutar Appearance, minus tge tripping, if I watch myself more closely and not get so into it…..lol ????

Hi Christopher ,
In reply/regards tour posting, at least in Canada, where I am for the most part, most radio stations are owned and/or umbrella-ed now under huge media companies, and therefore have pretty much already have the radio stns, pre -geared towards certain demographics, age brackets, and really no room for new music and/or folks running these radio stns , don’t necessarily have a keen open mindedness when it comes to new music such as MLT as I’ve tried emailing a few stns in the past and that was more or less the kind of sense I got for a reply or no reply from them … the radio stns of today, that offer to play Oldies, and/or would welcome MLT are rare, unlike back in the 80s and previous to that when radio stns were not owned by huge conglomerates media companies and could play the music that was welcomed and not pre determined, etc as is now, for the most part… there is a better chance of contacting independent radio stations that are online, etc to get MLT airplay and one such station that does is Radio Broadgreen in Liverpool, a program hosted by Graham Howard.
However, I have sent MLT YouTube links to radio personalities that I know personally, and do share links, but ultimately it’s up to the person to choose whether or not they like or not what they hear …
Perhaps, it’s different in USA/Europe, the radio scene, and open mindedness towards what ‘s getting played is different than in Canada, maybe I’m wrong in this observation, but from what I’m seeing in Canada, tfst is how the mainstream radio stns are…owned /run by big companies, and pre-set out on what is played, etc , unlike radio times of yesteryear…. This is only my opinion/thought on this, you may/may not agree , and either way is ok … but I hope you do get lucky with whomever you contact to get MLT played on air

HHi Jurgen, it’s now almostv4 AM, my time, I had a bit of insomnia but now tired and need andcready to sleep but wanted to quickly reply back regarding April Verch’s music style of Fiddle playing… Yes, it is a mixture of Irish Folk/Appalachian /Country but stemming from up the way in my area where she’s from, called Pembroke ( part of the Ottawa Valley) , it’s quite Celtic rooted up there with population mostly of Irish/Scottish origins thus fiddling and stepdancing and country music is common place up there in that area but as I said, she now lives in the USA . Pembroke is about an hour away from me . She is considered more Folk as a genre …Love her stuff, I met her when she was 12/13 at a local rural fair in my late Mom’s hometown yrs ago….April is in her late 30s- early 40s now … and now I bud you a Goodnight, hoping that helped answer your April music type question !
