The Sugababes girl group, did an awesome live performance where a hologram type or however they did it in tech dept, of duetting with Dusty to make it as thiugh Dusty was actually there singing alongside them ( this idea of mixing someone that has passed on into a video with their son/daughter is a cool concept and has already been kinda of done by Hank Williams Jr and Hank W the 3rd with Hank Williams and Nat King /Natalie Cole )

Dusty Springfield ‘s real big hit (Her only # 1 ) was ” You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me ” which was originally an Italian ballad she heard at The San Remo Music Festival in early 1960s in Italy, which she was at along with Petula Clark, etc, and had English lyrics written to the tune, by Vicki Wickenham/ Simon Napier thus making it her only # 1 hit in her career, here’s a YouTube link of the guy who originally sang it in Italian whom she had heard it from :

Hi again Jurgen, I’m sorry but was never nor will I be a fan of Avril ‘s music, only my opinion, but her music simply does not, never has appealed to me and I think her music care took off after she had won a radio contest to getup onstage and sing with Shania Twain at an Ottawa show Concert that Shania was doing, many moons ago… same thing with my hometown gal Alannis Morissette, I liked her early stuff until her Jagged Pill stuff, tgen was not a fan but now her current stuff, I can tolerate….lol…

As For Canadian female singers, I enjoy Sarah McClaughan, Anne Murray, LeMeow ( Gin Bourgeois ) , Shania Twain, Kelly Prescott, … Although I’m into alot of old school country music folks, Carol Baker is a Canadian country singer, that I enjoy music of and did enjoy Rita McNeill, I love Heather Rankin ( of The Rankins fame in Canada), Cowboy Junkies, Molly Johnston, Dawn Langston, Amanda Stott, Amanda Wilkinson, just to rattle off a few Canadian female musicians/singers that I enjoy of…

Jung lives out on West Coast while I live kinda near East Coast …. just so you have an idea where we 2 Canuckers live… also as Jung is aware, I’m not keen on Classical or Neil Young stuff either…lol..

I definitely have eclectic and certain likes/dislikes in my music tastes but again, only my opinion, everyone’s music tastes vary outside of the realm of MLT music, and that’s okay ….????☮

Hi Jurgen, there’s a similar topic that was posted on here awhile back ago where women musicians were mentioned, perhaps someone can recall better than I and find it… but for your post, here, I’ll rattle off as many as comes to mind vocally and/or musician wise/both that I’m a fan of :

Patsy Cline, Dusty Springfield, Cass Elliot, Amy Winehouse, Petulant Clark, Martha Reeves, Reba McEntire, Patty Loveless, Janis Joplin, Billie Holiday, Marla Gibbs, June Carter Cash, Mother Maybelle Carter , Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crowe, Ronnie Spector, Karen Carpenter, Agnetha & Anni-Frida, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstandt, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Allison Krause, Ella Fitzgerald, Mahalia Jackson, Amy Grant, and many more, but for now, these will suffice as I could go on and on but not all names are coming to me….

Lol Roger, It was David Cassidy , as I watched ” The Partridge Family show on TV, whom I preferred but I was only a child in the 70s under the age 10, I would of been a tad young to been on a crush or even know what it meant to be on one to be fair, until I was I was 12 to grasp the ” crush” concept …lol

Hi again Jurgen, in reply to your reply to my reply to you, the top 4 at least female singers that stand out for me because of their vocal vesatility are : Patsy Cline/Dusty Springfield/Cass Elliot … Though both Cass and Dusty Springfield had previously been in a group before going solo ( Dusty was with Lana Sisters and then with her brother Tom and Springfield and first Tim Fields later replaced by Mike Hurst as The Springfields and Cass Elliot with Cass and The Big 3, then The Mugwumps, then with Mamas & Papas, Cass collaborated with Dave Mason and then went solo ) . These ladies and their vocal versatility allowed them to sing a variety of styles .

As female musicians go, the list I had previously posted that you found sums up more or less the musicians aspect but some others are already have been mentioned here by other, are also ones that I enjoy …. ????☮
