I must agree for most part, except…in some cases, for me, MLT’s cover versions / originals are both Equal in my mind with perhaps the odd covers being better than originals…..lol…. I’m finding it interesting to see the similar/ different viewpoints on the topics here, from others, and male perspectives, and for me , being the only female MLT Club member for time being, active on the forums here offering up my female perspectives…quite intriguing and interesting… I’m also a believer in that it’s okay to respectfully disagree/agree with others, as we all have unique views.

Ok….I’m going to chime in with my 2 cents worth here, and you may/may not agree with my posting and that’s fine, either way…
Ottawa %0/audio stations back in tge day were far better than what they have now offered…. I agree, most stations are seemingly gearing to tge generations below us (younger than 50+) and will agree, many pkay similar rotations of same music. I now only wake up to a certain station for the hosts, not necessarily the music… I enjoyed back in tge day, when Ottawa had certain radio stns one could be loyal too, as they were distinctive , as in Energy 1200, was like top 40 stuff, Oldies 1310 was that ,dedicated to oldies, Chez 106 was Rock, CKBY was country….but like all things, Radio stns change, formats change, etc… The internet is a godsend for offering a variety of 4adio stns tgat are distinctive yet cater/appeal with stuff to suit all music tastes rather than zone in on specific age brackets…. i’m not sure for rest of Canada or USA but in my opinion , compared to USA/Europe, they are more open minded in their radio stns formats, etc….

Like Jung, although on opposite side of Canada…. I too, am eagerly awaiting my parcel from Mr. Postman…..my guess is, once tgey arrive in Canada, must be in quarantine for a certain period of time before relased to onwards said destinations, and I would think of it the same for USA postal service too… Remember…All good things come to those who wait….lol

And I’m in favour of creative people, whether it be musicians, artists, etc…. They should follow their own instincts, carve out their own niche, follow their own path, because after all, to do what you truly love and believe in and have control over it versus having someone else’s “idea of control over how it all should be, etc” . far outweighs all else. It’s up to people to decide what and/or if they are open minded and be willing to perservere or not…

I grew up watching The Partridge Family…one of many tv music shows I enjoyed as a kid, I loved the Theme song and the Rainbow Partidge images in the show’s opening…
Wow, Jung, you mean to say before now, you were not aware/familiar with the Partridge Family tv show in the 70s…. !?!? I’m stunned.?! Being in Canada , I thought you might of been familiar with them….They were a fixture in Canadian homes to watch….Please tell me you’re familiar with Beachcombers, ( shot in BC)…and some other tv greats of the pastvfrom 50s-80s…. oh how I loved tv back then.?…

Indeed, it is now a staple to my Xmas time traditions of music to enjoy over tge season, and help me cope throughout my Winter Blah Blues… I still enjoy ” Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer”, “Merry Bloody Xmas” and a few others by Irish Rovers and ” I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas”, Boney M’s ” Mary’s Boy Child”, and some other classic gems… This year, my fave Canadian band ( Glass Tiger) just released their own Christmas CD , which I’ll get eventually…lol
It is nice when Christmas music comes along, that moves you, puts you in the spirit of things ????????

It is a sweet song to be heard at Christmas time…though I’m not a fan of winter, my ideal Winter…onecday, on Xmas Day, mild and gentle falling snow like the song, but then after that…resume with summer ….lol…Never was a Winter person, always a Spring/Sumner gal… I bundled up to the point I can’t hardly move whenever I must go out in winter . I don’t drive, rely on public transit, walking, but in winter, I avoid going out unless I must, but with Covid, it’s going to depress me even moreso , because I won’t be able to go out and enjoy the walking like I do now with the warm- slightly cool weather…but…all the more reason to have MLT tunes cranking to help with the Winter Blah Blues I suffer from over winter….yes, I believe I suffer from seasonal depression , Winter being the worst.

I hope you understand my decline to not post it . Thankyou.

Yes, indeed, quite sad by the news, in fact, he went to university in Ottawa ( my hometown, where I’m from)…He was certainly proud of being Canadian and even had mentioned Ottawa on Jeopardy a few times over the years. I wrote a poem to dedicate to Alex the other day , my way of expressing my sadness RIP Alex indeed, gonna miss you????????????
