And, here’s another good read that I have, and good to read while you crank MLT tunes in your headphones:

Exactly Graham, I believe you have nailed it spot on, so to speak, Canadians, Americans, British kind of all interwine with each other on what appeals to them , yet can find ways to connect and be in harmony though may interpret differently, it’s mutual all around…. all bounce ideas off each other to come up with their own interpretations….at least, I like to think of it as such…. like a perfect recipe, best to follow accordingly as laid out but can can still tweak to one’s liking, you can give 10 people same recipe, but the outco es won’t be exactly the same…?

Yes, Graham, I agree with you but I still feel more resonating towards the Beatles creative minds over Brian, both bands had their creativity conjured up differently and are indeed a class of their own leagues respectfully … yes, they fed off each other I suppose, I just find overall for me, Beatles have more appeal to me, I write poetry, so the Beatles lyrical creations, I can appreciate moreso than BBs… I guess it boils down to personal preferences and what each have to offer that resonates truly with the fans of their music…no exact right or wrong, just personal preferences…. To me Beach Boys represent a Pick Me Up Party mood ambience , at least in my eyes they do. Beatles offer a more in depth context to their stuff, more artistically visually … Again, its all a matter of personal pteferences.
Though I am more familiar with the BB’s hits as opposed to their lesser known stuff, but that still would not change my preferences.
I do also like the Jan and Dean stuff, well, Hot Rod songs for that matter…lol
California Sound, a league of its own as was the UK / British Invasion…

Snowbirds are awesome, but was sad to hear of the tragedy that took one of their own during an airshow a day or two after performing in Ottawa recently…. they are embraced on Canada Day flying over Parliament Hill during the Noontime Show on the Hill.

I’m more partial to the Beatles over the Beach Boys…I like Beach Boyscto dance and sing along with but can resonate more lyrically, music wise to the Beatles…
I’ve always considered BB to be more of a gimmick kind of band ( maybe my 2nd older bros Beatles influence took precedent over my ol…lol) oldest bro’s liking for Beach Boys stuff… while I do like both, Beatles wins me over….

I eat, breathe, sleep singing along to radio, cds, , etc, wherever the music thst moves and inspires me to feel good, dance, sing, you bet I’m going to enjoy, and I don’t care how others think of me in doing so, I do it because it makes me feel good.
I often had told my late Mom, she should of been a professional singer, she had a lovely voice ( maybe it was a dream she did want but didn’t know how to go about it, I’ll never know), even during her post stroke damage years remaining in life, she couldn’t sing actual words anymore but could still hum or babble on in perfect pitch/tune to a song on tv/radio/live in sunroof if a musician came to entertain the patients, or a nursing staff sang to Mom, Mom would love to try singing…. One occasion that I’m now grateful for , that I had taken a work related course through local college at the time, and I decided to do the assignment on my Mom, as a Stroke patient… I started singing Star Bangled Banner , as she loved the song(the Sept long wknd was always spent in Oswego NY USA at the car races with Dad and some of their friends) andcI had recorded her attempt at singing the tune , not words. I’m happy to have an audio keepsake of her singing voice, though changed from her pre stroke years where I thoroughly enjoyed her talent around home.

I’m echoing all your sentiments…it is indeed rare nowadays to come across legit real musicians anymore…in my mind, anything pre 2000 is old school and had value, not like the vast majority in today’s music lansdscape… no real sense/purpose.. Vince Gill, Reba, April Verch, Glass Tiger are among the rare few in my books who can still show em how it’s done with real genuineness…. Team MLT is the refreshing breath of common sense, originality, creative reckoning that thanks in part to them, the resurrection of what true musicianship is about that was somewhat lost along the way but now found…kudos to Team MLT and the rare few who are putting pride in their creative craft of musicianship???

I’d like to add Alan Frew’s ” Healing Hands” song from his solo album- ” Hold On”, and it’s justcas powerful, effective live whether when he does solo stuff and with Glass Tiger… btw, if memory serves me, Mickey Dolenz either plays drums & backing vocals, or just backing vocals . Alan did 3 solo albums, ” Wonderland”, ” Hold On”, “80290 Rewind”…

I love “Two of Us” as well, but all their videos are equal to me in being faves , regardless how old the gals are .
-
MLTBuzzGroovyGuilty of doing so… I’m constantly singing and a long time ago I did and still have videos of me singing along outloud with MLT while their CDs are playing….I love singing, have done some karaoke, open mic jams , but one day, maybe with Team MLT’S permission first, I’ll attempt to sing a song of theirs at an open mic jam, ( whenever it will be ok to do so again or if need be during online version)??
