That’s true Darryl, but I’ve tried… The only thing that would work is… The Dollar store kid toy plastic guitars, they’re more my size and I could have a chance to just maybe have success in finally learning to play the uke/guitar and rise above my issues above mentioned… If only, the real. guitar /ukes came in that size as they are in a toy/dollar store… Unless you met me in person, I’m telling you right now, my hands and fingers are extra ordinarily tiny, not your average size… Then again, I’m only 4’6-ish tall (a few inches under 5 feet tall)… Lol

I’m guilty of not always being the best in Grammar throughout my school years and now, I believe I had a learning disability back then to what is probably more common now and has a name…

I will say though, that Spelling for me, was my joy… I loved being great at Spelling and even won a class Spelling Bee one time… But from Grades 7-9 and Grade 11…Spelling was not really emphasized as important to know but I had a teacher in both Grades 10 and 12(yes same teacher both grades), who was old school and insisted on importance of Spelling and properly knowing how to spell… Once more Queen Speller arose from her dormant past Spelling Ashes to become one of the top class spellers in both  those Grades… Lol… Prior to that in Grades Kindergarten – Grade 6 we always had a Spelling/Phonetics Workbook which we learned from as well the teacher’s own plans for classroom teaching in those areas of education.

Canadian /USA have different spelling variations on words.

I guess my petpeeve amongst the English language is when when I hear people pronounce “route/schedule” differently then how I say and was taught as it  is pronounced , I pronounce both as  “route” – to sound like “root”   whereas the annoying variation to me is  the “about” sound pronounciation” and “schedule” – to sound like “sc” type sound, the “sc” being prominent as opposed to the annoying variation of it being pronounced as “sedgeule”, kinda like the “Schweppes Gingerale brand”…

Also what annoys me, though I don’t speak fluent or understand much of the Quebec French, is their sloppy slang they use, they speak half French/English combo, and what French they do speak, it not like the true Parisienne France French of what I was taught in my school years during the French classes we had in school.  I guess I have my petpeeve and not perfect quirks too, like everyone else… Lol

Good Q asked and enjoyed, Lisa’s reply, that was my new thing learned for today, Thankyou…

Lol, while yes, it is evident from the getgo that I noticed the extra long fingers that both Mona and Lisa were blessed with making playing guitar or any stringed instrument a tad more easier…

Whereas in my case, I was blessed with extraordinary tiny wee hands and short stubby kinda thin fingers and small wrist and short arms… And my reasoning for not being able to ever master the basics of guitar/uke properly is my inability to correlate in my brain the connection of what I see /read on how to do something, ie: learning basic guitar/uke chords and holding properly…. That is I can understand what I’m seeing/reading but when it comes to actual application… It won’t occur… For whatever reason, I cannot get the hang of it… It’s frustrating because I want to learn as I have a uke and have watched my 2nd oldest bro self teach himself guitar growing up, he even tried to teach me the basics, same result… He could see my frustration… (I think it ‘s also an attribute to my being born full term at 3 pounds 3 ounces (premature baby size), almost died, but survived, had to remain in hospital a month until I was 4-5 pounds to be able to come home)

I believe because of my birth size,  I was always going to have and still do coordination/balance/hand-eye issues, thus my correlation-connection coordination brain issues… So… I’ll just have to stick with tambourine and percussion type instruments?

I’m fascinated in how this topic went from talking about “brexit” possibly affecting MLT, to off shooting to Speaking English properly…. ?

Yuppers… I love 3 Dog Night stuff… Grew up as a kid in the 70s listening to them on radio and always loved Joy to the World….. It’s the only song that I like where a frog is referenced… “Jerimiahwas a bullfrog”… As I’m not a real frog fan at all… Just Kermit and that singing frog from Bugs Bunny cartoon…. As for real deal frogs, nope, not a fan…

Yes,  indeed, those of us  here, who have yet to see MLT live in person, (myself included) all want to as well…. It’s a common goal ?… To which hopefully we can all achieve at some point?

Hi Tore, nice to meet you, enjoy  the MLT Club stuff here?

  • I love all guitars, whether it be a Rickenbacker, Gretsch, Stratocaster, Gibson Les Paul, etc…if I enjoy the sounds emanating from them, that’s a good thing, now what I will say though, if ever there was a Purple one or a Fuschia Pink one , or both in metallic colour versions of Pink /Purple and if I ever  won the 649 or Lotto Max Jackpot  ( we’re talking over the 1 million  jackpot amount, more like 60-80 million jackpot worth ), you damn well bet I’d be buying my dream guitatrs, invite Team MLT  to come and put on a private concert and I’d invite All my MLTBuzzGroovy Posse Friends along for the event…..you betcha 😀
